Actually, god and religion are not the same thing--they may include one another, but one can have a spiritual existence without religion. Religion, as most people talk about it, is a social organization/institution, one that outlines certain social and/or cultural norms, practices, value systems, etc. for its followers. People can have a personal relationship with a spiritual entity (i.e. a god or higher power) without subscribing to any or all of the practices of a religious institution.

Not necessarily. Being religious would not only mean you believe in a God, but also that you practice the rituals and strongly adhere to the sets of beliefs and values associated with the religion you belong to.
Believing in a God, does not mean you follow those practices. For example, a christian can believe in God without going to Church every Sunday or taking part in Christian ritual. But he could lead a good christian life without necessarily involving himself completely in the religion.

Finding God is coming into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Finding religion( being religious) is finding an order of doing things through God. they are not the same thing. Doing things "religiouslly" seems to take away from doing things with God. In simpiler terms, finding God is different form finding a good church(religion)

Not exactly. If you think of a religion as an organized set of beliefs, their accompanying moraes, and practices designed to live in accordance, then yes all beliefs form a religion even if it is just a religion of you.
I think most people who say "Give me God but not religion" mean they are against organized religion.
And not all religions require a deity. The major ones (in terms of number of adherents) do, but then you have say Jainism and Taoism which could be considered philosophies but are also described as religious systems.

No being religious and believing in God is NOT the same. I believe in God and Jesus, I am not a religious person. Religious people are usually zealous or overly serious. What I mean is they take their belief beyond as for example, walking around with Bible in hand and quoting scriptures all day ... these I consider religious fanatics and zealous.

Religion is an institution created by man based on beliefs. God is not a God of religion. He is God and God alone. To say they are the same thing is limiting the omnipotent potential of God.

Nope. Religion is a man made core of doctrine and belief. The Catholic religion is separate from the Baptist religion.
Religion is NOT the same as belief in God. Some believe in Allah as God, some believe in nature as a God, some believe in themselves as God, and some believe in the God the Bible teaches, and some believe in God their Religion teaches.
Belief in God and Religion are absolutely NOT the same thing. Belief in God, of anykind is spiritual. Subscribing to doctrine is religion.

Religion is a tough topic to discuss. Most religious people have found God, but their are so many different religious beliefs. Most religions have completely different thoughts when it come to " God."

Not in our definition. Religion is a man-made entity that provides for many peoples' need for conformity.
Believing in God and trying to live by His rules does not require my attendance in a church on Sunday, or my participation in women's circles, or my baking goods for the church bazaar.
If you say your are such and such religion, your definition says that you speak a certain language (in-house language as we know the Baptists and the Catholics are different brands of religion and speak of their beliefs in different words). You shun those who do not believe the way you believe.
Is that what the Bible says? Mine says to not be yoked with an unbeliever. It doesn't say look down your nose at them or at the people who attend a different church.

Religion is all formalities. Religion will get you nowhere if you don't have God.... alot of traditions, etc come from religion and many are not Biblical. What we need to worry about is whether or not it lines up with the Bible -- it is the christian's final authority and God's inspired Word to us.
