Supersize me, or Farenheit 911, or Farenheit 451, or the Crucible, or Schindlers List, or Flowers in the Attic, etc... Is it okay to create movies for the public, subject to the rating standards, that depict your negative opinion about whatever?

I'm pretty sure the First Amendment makes it okay.

Did yo see "Irreversable"? It opens with the graphic depiction of a man being beaten to death with a fire extinguisher and a woman being anally raped until she falls into a coma.

Or "Boxing Helena" where a man keeps a woman by amputating her arms and legs.

If some studio things it will make money, they'll Greenlight a film about the devil eating babies!

It depends on your take, I'd say. Kirsty Gunn writes books dealing with rape, incest and child abuse, but they are beautiful novels and almost cathartic treatments of the topics.

Fahrenheit 451 was an excellent book, by the way, about the dangers of censorship. A good allegory.

Of course it is, that's what freedom of speech is all about. Every movie will probably offend someone somehow. Though I do think the ratings system could use a lot of work.

I think its OK 'cause it gives the person/s the opportunity to express thier view on whatever and to try and get people to view those views in the same fashion.

It is Ok to make the movies a person doesn't have to watch them if they find them offensive.

Well, yeah. Nobody actually has to watch them.
