Your child need to be in a doctor's office or emergency room NOW. Any fever over 103 is dangerous for a child. If you don't have a ride or are a long way from an ER or clinic, call an ambulance.

In the meantime, if you have some children's motrin or tylenol, give it to him. Take off any constricting clothes that he may be wearing and cool him off with a damp rag. Most importantly, get him to a doctor immediately.

Any child that has a 102+ fever needs to be seen by a doctor.
You need to tend to that child. Keeping your distance probibly not the thing to do.

Call the doctor or the advice nurse and ask
1. about the child with the high fever.
2. being pregnant around extremely ill people.

You have a stronger immune system than your child, even if you are pregnant. A 104.6 fever is not terribly uncommon for a child, but he/she should see a doctor.

I'm sure that most mothers with more than one child have had to deal with a sick little one while pregnant. I think you'll be fine being around your child, but you need to take him/her to see a doctor to find out the cause of the high temp. And at any rate, most little ones want their mothers to care for them when they're sick, not someone else. Good luck.

a fever isn't contagious and i don't see why you can't take care of your child. the best thing to do is to put so breezy loose clothing, a damp towel on the forehead and give him or her tylenol. keep him or her hydrated with fluids and check the temperature every half and hour. let me know how it goes

No! You need to get that down. Get that kid some help. They need to be cooled down. Put them in a cold bath.
A fever is just your boby fighting something. Most likely you would catch anything!

That child needs to get to a doctor immediately. I don't think it will hurt you at all. Take care of your child.
