Well, arguing with somebody who does not believe in God is complex. You will not convince him just by arguing. Human nature does not work that way.
About what you say, it is difficult when you are arguing to stick to a precise argument. You have to go where the ideas go, but it does not look like a good idea to quote the Bible. Nevertheless, I would need to know how the talking began and the course that it took

The Old Testament is historically sound. There is no external evidence, secular or religion, that can dispute the historiocity of the Bible. The argument is valid when people are blinded and biased to a book they have never read. If I did not believe in magic and you showed me a real life magic trick(not an illusion), logic would imply that there really is magic.

I think that you cannot force anyone to believe in the existance of God unless God has opened this fact to them-so I choose to pray for the people that I think need God, and if they accept God then I am happy-but life is about choices, though I think that quoting the Bible does give a good foundation to your argument, just like facts in a regular essay.

He is trippin' because the Bible is not proof of God's existence. Remember the expression "Seeing is believing"? Well we as human beings need facts, things we can see and touch....things we can verify for ourselves...

Religion is based on faith: you believe without seeing. It's like asking to prove the existence of the Loch Ness Monster or of an alien. There are so many people who claim to have seen these two, yet would you believe them? Why? Because there is no proof. You can't simply rely on what they tell you.

They will if they suddenly discover that they are now a toad. :-)

But seriously - if people believe that God not only exists, but that the Christian conception of God is the accurate one, how can you expect people not to quote the one specific work known to describe that God? It is like saying that a confession at a murder trial is inadmissable - the prosecution may need more than that, but they'll certainly need as much as that.

For it the word of truth
just because u don`t believe in some thing like God and Jesus does not made it not true
u may not believe in magic but that will not stop the spell

The existance of God cannot be scientifically proven, and that's the only thing you'd settle for, isn't it? If it could be proven, there wouldn't be much FAITH involved in it anymore. The only 'proof' we have are the accounts of the people who knew him and followed him. That's why we quote the Bible.

Excellent question. Personally I believe the fact that we talk about God proves his existence. If we had not been created in his image, but rather evolved from more primitive forms of life, I don't believe would would have a spiritual facet to our make up. Hence, he never would have been invented, so to speak.

once again, the Bible is God's instruction book for us, but we don't need anything to argue the existence of God. just look around. existence itself will prove there is a God. you're just choosing to be ignorant.

Because the Bible is the basis of peoples faith.

Personally, I try not to quote it, unless the questioner brings it up first. Other than that I try to use personal points.
