Depends on your hair, but in general, start with a good conditioner after you shampoo your hair. Once it's dry you can braid it or put it in a pony tail. For night time you can try a scarf or a braid. My friend who has braids puts a scarf on her head at night, and her hair is always nice.
Vinegar or lemon juice can also act like a detangler after shampooing because it lowers the acidity of the hair.
Also avoid: riding in the car with the windows down, convertibles, motorcycles, and amusement park rides.

I don't think there's any way to get your hair untangled without brushing it! Why would you not brush it?

Or you could shave it off. That'll untangle the part that's left on your head.

hair oil as it would be too greasy to get knots or use those no tangle hair shampoo's (I doubt they work though)
