If you have an ache in the back of your jaw not around any teeth could this be a cavity?

I get this sometimes, but it's linked to my sinuses.
I have allergies, and if they get bad, I'll get the aching in my jaw.

yes you can have pain there 'cos of cavities. take a pain killer and do brush a lot at least 3 times a day after any big meal. and keep a sugar free chewing gum which has baking soda, chew it after every snack....

if the pain Doesn't go aways you can test it by talking some cold liquid and keeping in your mouth if the pain increases and you can feel increased cold sensation on a particular tooth its cavities. but a negative test doesn't rule out cavities.

also you can have pain ther if its 'cos of a wisdom tooth coming out...

I would say TMJ (Temporo-Mandibular Joint).

My jaw aches all the time. Go to a dentist or orthodontist for x-rays.

this could be your wisdom teeth coming through. the best thing to do is go to a dentist as soon as possible.

Your wisdon teeth may be impacting. See a dentist and he'll refer you to an oral surgeon. They have to be taken out.
