I already know the answer, I'd just like to see what others believe. If you have doubt, return shortly, and see what others say. I'll probably have "details" added too.

This is an example of how people give information which they have not any knowledge of. Some of you however, admittingly gave your thought only.

The Immaculate Conception is the Catholic belief that Mary, Jesus' mother, was conceived immaculately, without sin or stain. God supposedly graced her with this giving her no ability to commit sin. The Immaculate Conception has absolutely nothing to do with the birth of Jesus. Thanks for answering.

This is a specifically Catholic belief and involves the conception of Mary, not Jesus. I believe that most Protestants (only know for sure about Baptists, though), do not subscribe to that belief

The immaculate conception was where Mary, being a virgin, conceived the child Jesus. My understanding, the way I was told in Catholic school is that an Angel of God impregnated her and this same Angel came to Joseph to let him know basically that she had been a virgin and this was a blessed pregnancy.

Some people think the term refers to Christ’s conception in Mary’s womb without the intervention of a human father; but that is the Virgin Birth. Others think the Immaculate Conception means Mary was conceived "by the power of the Holy Spirit," in the way Jesus was, but that, too, is incorrect.

The Immaculate Conception means that Mary, whose conception was brought about the normal way, was conceived without original sin or its stain—that’s what "immaculate" means: without stain. The essence of original sin consists in the deprivation of sanctifying grace, and its stain is a corrupt nature. Mary was preserved from these defects by God’s grace; from the first instant of her existence she was in the state of sanctifying grace and was free from the corrupt nature original sin brings.

I'm pretty sure the Immaculate Conception was how Mary got pregnant without "touching a man." If that's wrong, then I'm sorry but I'm an atheist and I don't know any better.

I'm not Catholic I am a born-again Christian and we don't use that term. But we know from the true teachings of the Bible that Mary conceived Jesus through the power of the Holy Ghost.

I'm Catholic and I believe in all that I C stuff but there is also talk of how a man and woman can have a physical child together without physical contact in "ancient mystery" schools that date back through ancient Greece and ancient Egypt. Mary and Joseph were members of such a secret school. But that's probably just a coincidence. They also say that if you accomplish this, you ascend instead of dying. Hey, wait, Mary is said to have ascended... ...nah... probably just another co-incidence...
