Three Duke University Lacrosse players were accused of raping an African American exotic dancer. The alleged victim is currently facing severe credibility problems because her story is not corroborating with the evidence.
The DA, Mike Nifong, is under fire for pursuing this very weak case during his election season to boost support from the black community. Indeed, the community just reelected him.
This he-said-she-said battle is developing into a perfect storm of a legal case because it involves race, sex, an elite university, and rocky town-gown relations.

It's on the news here daily.... I live within a couple hours of there.
There was a party at a lacrosse house. They hired a stripper. She accused three of the players of rape. They cancelled the season and are prosecuting. This is a HOT button issue in NC.
I personally believe that the DA wouldn't prosecute if there weren't a chance of winning, which means, Evidence.

This past spring, there were allegations of sexual assault at an off-campus party made against a few members of the lacrosse team by a female exotic dancer.

Some Lacrosse students hired some strippers and one of the stripper claims she was raped. The other stripper and the players say she was never alone and this didn't happen.
