Paul says that slaves should obey their masters because all christians will be slaves to christ in the afterlife.

It seems the consensus on Answers is that the torment of hell is being without God.

How come my question last question doesn't make sense.

Christians are going to heaven to be Jesus' slaves. Non-Christians are going to hell where they won't be slaves.

John 15:15
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

your starting on some false premises, lets see that a god exists, that god is anything like you think he is, that the bible is god's word, etc. Paul's teachings for one he didn't even know Jesus so why would you follow him and not peter and Mary m. who knew Jesus probably the best assuming Jesus and the rest of them were real people and not fictional? I mean the gospel of Mary and Apocalypse of peter are the most creditable sources and it's left out of the bible, instead your going on unknown writers of many many yrs after this guy Jesus supposedly lived and accepting their word that they know god's word? highly unlikely. Oh and my answer is it's all bullshit so who cares? I don't believe I'll be going to heaven or hell, there is no evidence of an afterlife since nobody has ever died and came back able to tell us of such a thing. Seems most likely to be some wishful thinking by cowards who are afraid of death. Wish religion would find some new methods of trying to convert than fear, even your beloved Jesus according to the bible used fear more than anything else. spoke more verses about hell than he did heaven.

believe me, not that they dont understand.. but they DONT READ BIBLE LITERARY, and of course they didnt know other verses thats been hide by the priest and church!! Priest just pick and choose the good verses and hide other verses that can make people realised the different issues in Bible.

Thats the only reasons why this priest and church FORBID christians to read bible literary!! The dont want the to know the truth that contain in the bible.

Besides that they were bound only to the Doctrine where u cant challenge and questions the doctrines even though the doctrines could not answer a simple questions!!

They will said that u have no Faith in Jesus to questions about Bible and u will not be saved by Jesus!!

Thats the simple and final answer they gives since they themselves could not answer simple questions such as:-

why is there THOUSANDS of contradictions if it is believed Bible is the WORDS OF GOD AND INFALLIABLE WORDS OF GOD? is it God forgetful?God didnt know the true facts and thats why there are THOUSANDS of CONTRADICTIONS?

why Jesus never said "I AM GOD, WORSHIP ME".

the prophesies said jesus will awake after 3D 3N but when u counted again jesus appear again after 2D1N!!!!

why cant they answer and proves this questions??
Simple as they put the blasphemy in Christians Believes and in Bible and it BIT THEIR OWN TOUNGE!!!

good question, friend. maybe rather it is a true statement that some people do not understand the word of God.
I think though the torment of hell is not simply being without God (for even Satan believes in God) but the wrath of God which is to be very overwhelming. It is likely that heaven will be overwhelming to but in a easier and more pleasant sense of Gods power......but if you don't believe in God then why do you go to all the trouble of trying to disprove the christian viewpoint or criticize.....My apologies good sir it is much to presumptuous for me to assume such things on the grounds of this question and those others I have read but given them it does appear you have a desire to criticize christians in paticular......what is your problem with such people which choose that for their faith. Remember they are only human and we all make mistakes.

When we are saved, we become children of God. Even if we had to be slaves, I would gladly do that just to be able to be with Jesus. My mother once said that if she knew that God's word was a lie [it's definitely not!] that she would still have worshipped and loved Jesus on this earth. That is how much faith she had in God...and right now she is with Jesus in Heaven and loving it!!

Most people don't understand (or won't accept) the word of God, or any other idea secular or spiritual, because they do not wish to open themselves to the effort of thought, discernment, and most likely do not wish to learn something that may call for more effort , discipline, restraint or giving on their part. They view things through the filter of their own ego which reigns supreme in most folks.

Hypothetically, if you could prove the exsistence of God, many agnostics would not be moved. Sadly, the same could be said for many who call themselves Christians in the converse. A selfish, distorted ego It is the single most common human failing.

well FREE WILL would tell me that I do not have to serve God for I am my own master... so disobey God in heaven... or go to hell and be tortured... well seeing how life is torture for me- I don't think it would be all that much different from my current life.
oh yeah- and people don't understand the word of God because God either made the mistake of not clarifying or made the mistake of not giving us the intelligence to understand... infallible my butt.

You should watch "What Dreams May Come" very good movie...concept intrigued me. It might inspire you for more questions and answer some things for you.

It's funny how the word of God changes from church to church...See I'm Christian, and my understanding is that we are all children of God (from Jews, to Hindus, to Muslims, to even non-believers...). Just because you're non-Christian, does not necessarily mean you're going to hell (so long as you don't do evil things for example).

How do you know you have understood the word of God correctly, that you haven't been fooled by the evil around us?
Wouldn't there only be one version of the word of God? Wouldn't all the Churches agree on that word of God?

But the reality of it is, the word of God is up to interpretation. So many people say so many different things about the word of God, that it is understandable why other people would have trouble understanding and believing it. There is too much conflict.

And why is it that so many people have trouble accepting other religions?

Until they place a value on it(the word of God) higher than all the other treasures of their heart-they will simply not be granted the ability to understand. Understanding the things of God comes in the form of grants. As a student of the word we must pay our grants off with honor. Belief in the word and the hearing of the word are synonymous. This is why Jesus says, "take heed how you hear, with what measure you mete out it will be meted back to you again." When we hear the truth and receive as the truth this shows honor to God. In turn we are given more. This process will continue as long as we are willing.

Paul was not Jesus, never met Jesus and had a very selective and inventive way of interpreting Jesus' directives. He was by his nature a zealot, got hit by a bolt of lightning and took it as a divine sign that he was to preach the Gospel. I do not consider this historical figure to have any validity as a Christian or a messenger of God, mainly because he did not adhere to Jesus' main message of "loving your neighbor".

In my point of view, God's message was to love and support one another, nurture relationships, forgive and stand for humanity's dignity and honor.

If I can do that, I am at peace with my relationship with God.

I don't agree with you, but if is said that we will be slaves for JESUS I will do that. I want to be with JESUS regardless of what I may or may not be doing. I is one thing about it, I would be able to say I am a slave for my SAVIOR, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever
