Divorce is not easy for anybody. Some people just cannot handle the committment. I know you folks probably have strict customs and I definitely respect that. Here in the USA people change one another almost like they change their underwear. It is not right, believe me. Maybe to some people it is a game but we have many many immature young folks in this country who cannot handle a permanent relationship. I thank God I am not one of them.

I think divorces would be more common in India also if the culture accepted it. Especially now that women, at least in urban areas, are becoming more independent and don't want to be dominated by the guy anymore.

I'm sure that most people who get married don't intend to get divorced. But life is difficult and couples either pull together or they don't. If they don't, then they wallow in their anger, grief or sorrow alone and lose sight of the love and support that's right in front of them.

its not a game of love. if i asked you this...if you no longer loved your husand would you stay with him? if you fell in love with another man would you stay with your husband? if your husband beat you every day and mistreated you would you stay? i think you would say no. so realy dont you think that we are lucky as a nation to have the option of a divorce?
