No way-- it's like me. I had freedom. Taught christians and everyone are all like, yah, it's real... but with me, when I was looking at my friends growing up like that, I thought, that's so stupid! When you're on the outside, looking in, it seems different!

I'm not sure what the value of this question is - everything you yourself know - how to talk, how to use a computer, how to feed yourself, dress yourself, or even walk - is something you've learned from others, much of it at a very young age.

Human beings are social beings, whose primary adeptness is communication. We know nothing - nothing at all - outside of that context, other than how to breathe and drink from a nipple.

Why should it surprise that religious knowledge passes this way as well? Surely science isn't invalidated by the existence of classrooms to teach it. Why should religion be?

Absolutely! Simply put, my parents raised me as a Catholic. At an early age I realized it was wrong for me. I educated myself, learning about different religions. When I discovered Wicca, I knew it was right for me. I feel I would have done the same research had I not been brought up in a religious family. It's in my nature to discover my spiritual side.

To tell the truth, religion isn't my thing. I'm not Christian, or Buddhist, or Muslim or anything. My parents are Hindu, but that doesnt mean anything. Doesn't mean that I have to be Hindu too. Even though I'm just a kid I have already made my dicision: I will not worry about religion and worry more about the important things like health and being nice to people.

Yes, neither of my parents go to church and they taught me that there probably was not a god. I started reading the Bible on my own when I was 16 and I got saved. I found a way to get to church several months later.

Yes, eventually. I was raised in a house that was heavy on religion, light on God. In spite of that, I was able to "find" God at around 21. I merely practice and share my relationship with God in a particular religion.

I believe that we are born with a "God sized hole in our heart", that many people try to fill with other things, (one of them being religion at times). Eventually, no person is allowed to die without having the opportunity to accept or deny God, in spite of not being exposed to a religion or having a poor exposure to one.

My parents taught me everything but religion. I watched my parents indulge in heavy drinking while drug users and addicts shared the rooms we conversed in. I have not found religion, I found God, or better put He found me.

it would be more difficult to be religious, but it is possible. people have a tendency to watch and copy what they lack in themselves from other people. There is also...."light of christ" in each of us...that will point you in the direction you need to go if it is listened too. So it depends what you want in life i guess.
