I guess it's the word "seem" here that's most relevant. Somehow it seems to you that people hate Christians. And by "people", I imagine you mean, "anyone who is not Christian".

But the idea is vague, and the notion unfounded. I am not a Christian, but I do not hate Christians. Many of my closest friends are Christians. And Christianity is a massive and fractionalized religion, so it's not really possible to lump Catholics with Methodists and Baptists and Born Agains.

Some people are going to hate, period. And some Christians are hateful as well, and inspire hatred from others... though there are other Christians who would contend that such people are not deserving of the peace-loving name "Christian" to begin with. So you can begin to see the problem with such sweeping statements.

Why do some Christians seem to hate people?

It's the message they really hate. Some people do not know how to handle the truth. Hate will do more harm to the hater.
Satan hates Christians.

Many Christians strongly believe that athiests and their children will be tortured for all eternety because they choose to be skeptical about spirits and supernatural creatures and rituals. They feel perfectly comfortable teaching this to their children. They believe that people of other religions will share this punishment if they remain true to the teachings of their parents and communities.

It's kind of like an ingrained lack of respect for your fellow human beings and their culture, before you even try to understand it. I hope that even as a Christian, you would see why people find this fundemental belief about others to be deeply offensive.

Even in the answers to this question, there are comments like "They are afraid of what's coming to them," and "lovers of darkness hate the light". Many christians seem to revel happily in the fantasy that non-believers will be tortured and feel free to share those fantasies with nonbelievers AND THEIR CHILDREN! To me that is fundamentally screwed up.

I don't hate Christians, but some of them need to get a grip and stop judging people for their beliefs.

Not every body hates Christians. And just because you say that you are a christian does not mean that you are.
The devil knows that God is real, and even believes on him, but that does not mean his a christian. A christian is some one who walks in love, and hates sin.

Christians don't hate people - just so we can get this cleared up

Because most Christians hate others who don't think EXACTLY like they do, and don't have the EXACT same belief system.

Do you really think Christians are so perfect? I suggest you do some serious studies of Christianity and all of the violence and bloodshed from it's sordid history.
