My understanding is that all you have to do to be saved is to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and all your sins are forgiven, past and future included.
So, while you'd HOPE that a christian would feel inspired to obey God, according to the actual statement of faith and what keeps you from going to hell, by definition, you have a pink slip to commit any sin you want and ALREADY be forgiven for it.
While Islam does teach that Allah is MOST MERCIFUL and OFT-FORGIVING, and it is said often throughout The Quran in beautiful words, we are still held accountable for our sins.
Islam teaches that there are 7 levels of hell and 7 levels of heaven and each person will get what they earned. So, when christians talk about God being a JUST GOD (having justice), this sounds like Justice to me. Why should the man who rapes women and kills his children, for instance, be allowed into heaven without actually repenting/turning away from it? All because he claims Jesus as His savior and everyhing, no matter what, is already wiped away? Doesn't sound like Justice to me.
If ever the devil were to invent a religion, i think it would go like this: you're already forgiven for anything you do. (sorry if that offends anyone, it's not an attack on any specific individual, but an analysis of a particular belief and I'm sure there will be those who disagree but it is something worth thinking about)

I fall in this category.I got saved at 16. I had an affair, and got divorced as a result of it, about 3 years ago. I did it for selfish reasons, I was unhappy with my marriage, and my ex as verbally and physically abusive. I looked for something I had long lst, and found it.
I was truly saved at 16, and I kne what I was doing was a sin. But I was away from God, I was questioning him, and gave no thought to him when I did it.
NOW, I am re-committed to the Lord, but I still sin. I do not ask forgivness for the sins I am not truly repentent for, so they are still on the record. How can I be forgiven for something I know I am going to do? To be truly repentent, I must be truly sorry and try not to do it again. To ask forgivness, and sin again, knowing I am going to when I ask forgivness, makes me a hypocrite, so I dont do that.
I am not doing the devils work. I am not lving a perfect sinless life. But I admit I am wrong, I admit I am an ever groing person, and will make mistakes, we all do. We cant learn, and grow if we dont. If I admit I am wrong, kno why I am, and tell others why, it does not make me anything but human, and my beliefs are still active, and still real to me. In admiting I am wrong, I am not sinless, but rather normal, wich gives more power to God, not me, as God can use my folly for his gain.

the actual undeniable actuality that each thing exists so completely and we are waiting to stay with emotions and memories alongside with worry, love and happiness exhibits to me that we are the following for a more effective robust reason. definite -- we make sure to have a replace in questioning about the which technique of our lives. Dr. Bernard Haisch, author of 'the point-Guided Universe' says -- "i imagine that that is completely plausible to believe contained in the enormous Bang, an historic earth, Darwinian evolution, and God because the beginning of the universe. the problem arises once you attempt to invoke God to do issues that both contradict technology or are in simple terms no longer needed. yet as for the starting up of the universe, what brought in regards to the enormous Bang, that is wide open. there is not any clinical clarification, and so the metaphysical clarification that the universe began because the effect of an recommendations-blowing intelligence questioning it into existance is a few thing that ought to't be shown one way or the different."

Sorry I forgot to put on my Superman Suit that morning. Just because people become Christians doesn't make them super-human. You obviously do not understand the teachings of Christianity, nor anything else you seem to be screaming about. I realize some Christians go around condemning people, but that's just not how it works. People still make mistakes.and you really need to stop generalizing people. It's making you look like an idiot. I can tell you are smarter than that. Ignorance is going to get you in serious trouble.

Your premise is wrong...
"IF you truly have found GOD then it would be impossible to act in a manner that would offend him..."
That's not true. I'm not sure who you're writing about. It sounds like someone specific. But everyone sins. EVERYONE except Jesus.
Having said that, adultery is wrong and so many people get hurt because of it.

Just because you believe in God doesn't mean you can not sin. Man is a sinful creature by nature( Not God's fault either).Anyone can fall, but it's by Christs teachings and leadership that we may be forgiven for our sins.Just thinking about adultry is worst than the actual act, because when you constintly think on it, it dwells in your heart. So we sin everyday and not even know it.Jesus Said " No One Is Good,But our father in Heaven"

Because some people get caught up in the ways of the world (which are contrary to the ways of God) or lose sight of what is really important. They give in to their own desires (the Bible warns us not to give in to these desires because they are not of God but our own fleshy human bodies) They forget that what they perceive as pleasure here is only something that is very temporary compared to what we have waiting for us in eternity. But the good thing is, is that when we do fall and lose our way, God is always there to welcome us back and forgive us for everything if we are truly sorry and repent of it.

Christianity is only practiced to the letter when it is convenient...I am an atheist, but you won't catch me praying or going for communion. Self serving situational rationalization is what the vast majority of religious people practice. Laughable is what it is.

Salvation is a gift from God by His grace and will alone. I am personally a dawg who fails daily, and so I must trust in Gods grace, or all is lost.

You can't. Believing in God means you're trying to become like him and not following you're own ways anymore. God does forgive us though because we can't be perfect
