If Jesus had not been crucified, do you think people would have still followed him?

If this man Jesus who was purported to be the son of man,had not been crucified, do you think people would still follow him and claim there love for him? Or is it because of the crucifixon he has so many followers.

Many loose followers would have dropped away. A portion of his following were individuals who were looking for him to lead an earthly revolt. They wanted to be saved, but to them being saved was the overthrow of captivity.

He is still follwed today because of his Resurrection, (and his message of salvation) not his crucifiction.

At the time more would have followed Him. It was because He wasn't the earthly King they thought and because He laid down His life that even His disciples left. If He would have been an earthly King the huge crowds that followed Him when He performed miracles would have stayed. They even tried to make Him king by force. However these all would have been only temporary for that time and when He died a "normal" death would have scattered. But now that He is the Risen Lord countless numbers from every land follow Him in every generation so many many more follow Him now.

It is because he was crucified that he is considered the Christ (and the resurrection after of course) because it was prophesied that he would face a death like this (in a similar nature) and definitely would have to die and be handed over by a traitor. So i think if he wasn't crucified people wouldn't follow him because he wouldn't be the true Christ as prophesy points has pointed to Him. Unless of course He died of something else, then it would just depend I suppose.

your going to think this is a really stupid answerer but..
Jesus life and death happened in the Pisces age. every two thousand years the world switches the sign that rules it for the next two thousand years(gradually not all at once at a specific date). the signs go backwards through the zodiac.so the last 2000 years was Pisces. Pisces's is a sign based on self sacrifice and all the Christan virtues and vices like caring for others but also hypocrisy (see the middle ages and everything in the catholic church after Constantine). its my belief that the aquarium age will not have a Messiah but the rise of a organization. so basically my answer is no. he did what his god told him to do. his god new what he was doing.

Jesus died for our sins, not to gain more followers. But to answer your question, sadly, yes. Jesus probably would have fewer followers. It seems people respect the dead more than the living. This, I believe, has a lot to do with peoples obsession with martyrdom.

Jesus was not crucified! according to the book of Quran but raised to God. Believers are to follow their prophet. in a way, if you are following God's commandments you are following Jesus and all other prophets!

IF JESUS had not DIED on the CROSS, we would still be going by the OLD TESTAMENT(contract where-by men are SAVED) untill GOD came up with another plan of SALVATION.
