Take him to a doctor!!! Any fever that lasts more than a day or so should be evaluated by his doc, not people on Yahoo Answers! If he has a fever, it's NOT allergies, and it's probably not just a cold!

fever's usually do get worse at night. My son had an ear infection and a goopy eye since birth and wasn't diagnosed properly till 6 months. Needless to say we have found a new doctor and antibiotics cleared it up real fast! He started teething at 7-8 months and had 7 teeth come in within 2 months so that was a very rough time with fevers in the 102-103 range. They say that teething fevers don't get that high but his did.

I have a 16 1/2 month old daughter. She had a fever of 102 one night and i keep putting it off about the hospital. The third night, I decided to take her and the doctor said she had an acute respiratory infection. It was by luck that i took her then. So my advice is to talk him to the doctor as soon as possible.

At 15mos old, a fever needs to be checked out, same day. If there is nothing wrong that's great, but if something needs treatment be happy it was caught before "it" got much worse, or did permanent damage.

You say fever has been going on for 15mos. This could be a warning his body is giving of something far greater wrong than a cold, allergies, etc. And if not, again that's great but not likely.

Please call doctor. A fever that long is not normal.

By this time you should have taken your son into the doctor for booster shots and checkups. Have you addressed this issue with your pediatrician? If your pediatrician is not giving you the answers you need, get a second opinion today. Fevers can have dire consequences in young children, especially persistent on-going fevers.

If you can't afford a pediatrician, go to your local emergency room or free health clinic. Most counties have a free clinic.

Dr., Doctor, DOCTOR...you do not allow a child of any age have a fever that high for so long. Dehydration can occur and further exacerbate the problem. Do not walk, RUN to the nearest doctor or emergency room, STAT!

Any time there is fever it usually means there is an infection in the body. I have 3 kids and have been to the pediatricians office and the E.R. so many times.

In my experience with 3 kids, take him in TODAY to the Dr. You are better safe than sorry and it is FRIDAY! He could have some infection that requires medication. Don't delay. CALL NOW!
