In Kansas it is illegal. I'm suprised you didn't hear the whole world laughing when they passed that law and move up there.

Personally I don't care what they teach in school. Its all crap. All they need to teach is how to read, do basic math and then how to find your own answers from reliable sources. Too many, like yourself, never learn that last part.

No, evolution shouldn't be outlawed in school. It should form an important part of science classes, as it the development of evolutionary theory demonstrates how the scientific method works.

If you don't like what the school system teaches, then have your children homeschooled. That way you can control every aspect of what they learn about.

EDIT: I'd also like to clarify what a scientific theory is. In scientific terms, a theory is a large number of observations that tie in with each other. The experiments and observations involved have been verified by many scientists who have done the same thing and got the same results, proving that the results aren't accidental.

A scientific theory can also be described as a scientific law by the lay person - gravity is a theory as well, yet we often hear about the laws of gravity. Same about evolutionary theory - it could just as easily be called the laws of evolution.

And finally, a scientific theory is also able to admit when it is wrong. If new and verifiable data appears that can disprove a part of a theory, then that part of the theory changes to take the new information into account.

Nope, don't agree at all. Evolution has many theories and some are proven. One example that was given to me is, how come the flu bug gets worse every year if it doesn't evolve?

And if you are upset about lies being taught in school, go tell the school to quit teaching that Columbus found america... he never even saw this land. Or, that Pres Washington had wooden teeth and chopped down a cherry tree (both were merely political cartoons in local newspapers). Or, how about the lie a lot of people are spreading around that the Founding Fathers of America were all Christian and founded this nation on Christian beliefs to be a Democracy? All of these are lies and most are taught in your schools.

But, at least, I can prove these are lies. Now, can you prove all of Evolution is a lie?

I'm sorry but evolution is quite simply not a lie. (it also doesn't have a capital letter). The theory of evolution is backed up by scientific research in the fields biology, paleontology, physics, chemistry, geology. Over 95% of the scientific community accepts the theory of evolution (theory does not mean hunch, it means an explanation that has been backed up by empirical evidence).

On the other hand creationism has serious problems. How can you see the stars? Many are millions or even billions of light years away, yet we can see the light from them.
How do you explain the evolution of antibiotic resistant bacteria?
How do you explain the existence of viruses?

I could go on, but as I say evolution is a tried and tested scientific theory, the only thing In you question that worries me, is that you feel the need to close your sons mind,

you talk about how uneducated everyone else is yet you cant even spell properly. I hope your son has enough common sense to realize what a moron his mommy is. If he does not he will get suckered into the christian cult as many others have. another brick in the wall. I know christianity teaches people education is evil. thats why many sensible people leave. BTW im Pagan and if the Christian Wrong had it thier way id be burned alive, all because of thier own misgivings about Paganism. Its not my fault christianity breeds stupidity. However i can always fight back with historical atrocities of christianity, lies theyve spread, and the injustices they still commit to this very day.

No, it should not.

Evolution is a theory, and it is being worked on. We don't have exact proof, but we do have leads on it, more proof of evolution than our 0 proof of creationism.

Pubilc schools should not be influenced by religion. They teach science. And they teach the /theory/ of evolution, as that's all it is.

If it offends you, you need to grow up and look around. Denouncing everything won't get you anywhere in life. And I'm sure that's not how your 'God' wants you to be.

Do not say the Bible is proof of creationism. It's not. The bible is highly innacurate, and a large portion (if not all) is made up. It's no more real than the Greek and Roman mythology, in my eyes. The Bible was written by man and /his interpretation/ for God. Even if God is real, the Bible does not speak his word.

People like you make me sick. Seriously. You have strong feelings against something for a reason such as religion-- a religion you can only support with faith, not facts.

Evolution is based on scientific proofs. Your religion is based on what some men wrote in a book 150 years after it happened. Then it was edited by a king seeking obedience from his subjects and power to control the masses (people like you). Clearly one has more basis for truth than the other.

You put your son at a major disadvantage by limiting his education. Sir Francis Bacon is quoted as saying "Knowledge is power". You might want to consider increasing your base of knowledge as well.

Like Dorothy, leave Kansas. You'll find a wonderful and fascinating world out there to discover.

You are putting a wall on your childs education...

the church acknowledges evolution..

its not a lie... its a theory... is theory is something that could be challenged but not necesarily proven...

although, many fossils have been found that lead anthropologists and scientits to conclude that there have been many human like species in the past... and the way they adapted to the eart through different ages in time lead to the theory of evolution..

so its not a lie.. just a theory.. even though its closer to being fact every day that passes...

No I happen to believe in evolution, there is supposed to be a separation of church and state to avoid all possibilty of a theocracy. What about children of religions that don't read the bible, do you want then leaning that junk you call "creationism;" which has been scientifically proven time and time again to be wrong. Why don't you enroll your son in a private school where evolution is "outlawed." Maybe we should outlaw sex ed too, and have a generation of children having unprotected sex and thinking that dinosaurs rode on Noah's arc....

no, creationism isnt a flat out lie, its a fable or story created by ignorant people before science enabled them to understand things. Stuff like the sun is drawn across the sky by a horse and chariot, its nonsense, but not a lie. You are right, it has no place at all in school as a subject, at least in a science class, maybe it should just be studied in english class as mythology.

No, I don't agree. Evolution is a theory, and as such, it can and should be taught in public schools.

I'm a Christian and don't agree with us evolving from other species, but I do think all species (ourselves included) have evolved over time to adapt. Creationism and evolution don't have to contradict each other; it's one detail that you just need to explain. Forcing your child to believe something will only make him resent you in the long run, so I would strongly advise against that.
