The Cannon of the Original Bible was closed forever by Pope Innocent 1 in 405 A..D. In the 16th century, Martin Luther threw out 7 books in the Old testament. Isn't this an offense against God and his holy book? I wouldn't want to be Luther right now!

John s: Martin Luther added the word "alone" to Romans 3:28, another serious sin. Those 7 books were in the Bible when it was closed in 405 A.D.

You are assuming that the Pope is correct in what he laid out - big mistake.

The Bible is a collection of books considered to be reliable enough to base doctrine from. So, Martin Luther would not be any more in danger for choosing to consider certain books less reliable than you are for not reading them.
Either way, if you believe that the Roman Catholic Church has maintained its apostolic authority since the time of Saint Peter, then that means that Luther is screwed already because he was excommunicated for heresy. :)

Martin Luther discarded five books in the New Testament and said that only the Gospel of Luke and the writtings of Paul were valid.

Wow and to think we are already in 2006 without those 7 books.
What ever shall we do when the word of God is incomplete.
Come on people...... God did not sit down and write it himself!
It is and always will be a humans interpretation of "The Word". For all we know the people that wrote it were Scitzo. Or liers.
I wish they would have taught everyone how to be responsible for themselves instead of guilt and .....O' I'll be forgiven if I do this.. or O' I am special because I go to church all the time... never mind im a big gossip and I lie to my own mother.... ect...ect...ect...
The list goes on and on.

Well going along with your belief, the Catholic church would also be in big trouble, considering they left out all the Gnostic gospels of the New Testament. Ever read the Nag Hammadi. There's a whole slew of books the Catholics decided you didn't need to see!

Luther read the book of Romans and was born again. Romans is part of the cannon. The books you refer to were not. The Catholic church added them at council of Trent.

Actually, Luther simply used the Hebrew canon.

Would this be considered more or less evil than Luther's call to murder all the Jews, burn down synagogues and Hebrew Holy Scriptures?
(Where do you think Hitler derived these ideas?)

Let's not forget that according to Job, Satan can only do evil with God's express consent. Thank God He's not real.

We have Gods Holy Spirit to guide us unto truth. It was most likely that same Spirit that led Luther to protest the sins, lies, and perversions of Catholicism, and led him to start weeding out the errors.
