The other day my girlfriend and I were minding our own business, taking a nice walk around the neighborhood. Then we heard a rustling in some nearby bushes. I went over to investigate, and discovered a naked guy totally lurking and spying on us! He started to run away, so I whipped out my firearm and shot him. He's ok and everything, but now they've taken me away. They really want to know why I shot the dude? So, like, what should I tell them, considering I want to get out of this joint pronto? I'm out on parole for now.

You must really live in a bad neighborhood to have to carry a gun in the first place while you are taking a nice walk. And if you were walking around the neighborhood - how do you know this guy was lurking and spying on you ???? You had NO right to 'whip out a firearm' and fire a shot -- firearm crimes are more seriuos than running around naked. Get a life -- behind bars !

So you shot a fleeing man in the back and his only crime was lurking? You are exactly the kind of person who can not be allowed the responsibility of owning a gun. Just cause you are capable of loading and carrying a sidearm does not mean that you have the right to snuff out the life of anyone who offends you. If he had commited a violent crime and was trying to flee the scene you might be justified in using lethal force to compell him to stay at the scene of the crime. But the fact that he was "spying" on you gives you no legal standing to take such drastic action. How (the hell) do you figure this was an accident? Finally you should know that the fact that he was nude has NOTHING to do with what happened afterwards and in no way legitimizes your foolish actions

Accidentally shot an unarmed, naked man?

How could this be an accident? Did the weapon discharge of its' own volition? Quite a weapon if it did. All my firearms require the manual squeezing of the trigger to initiate discharge.

Out on parole? Parole is for persons released from prison. As this just happened, you are out on bail, bond or on your recognizance.

You have NO defense. You should turn all your firearms in to your local law enforcement authority and NEVR own another one.

It is people like you that give us responsible gun owners a bad name.
Enjoy your time in prison.

Granted that what the naked guy was doing was wrong, but....
Number one, you should not have shot him. He was unarmed and leaving the area. The only way you can shoot a person legally is if they are breaking into your home, or if they are trying to kill you. You should not be allowed to carry a gun. It is people like you that are the reason congress wants to take away our right to bear arms.

Number two, because of number one, I don't think you can get out of it. You overreacted to a situation and did not think before you shot. You were far to anxious to pull the trigger. You'll be lucky if the guy does not sue you.

You must correct your question. You didn't shoot him by accident it was on purpose. And for that you should pay. What is the matter with you, just because a pervert was in a bush, you start shooting at him? Pull your self together and think before you act.

Guns are not toys. You just prove that you are not capable of having one, you're losing your temper way too easy, that's a clue for you to live the gun at home locked (and do us all a favor and throw the key away).

If you shot someone who was running away from you ( clothed or not ) you are where you belong. Deadly force is only to be used as a last defense. Also you approached the bushes to see him, not the other way around!!!

this freak was stalking you obviously, and there are news stories after news stories that start this way and end with the couple chopped up. in fact allot of them get naked so the blood will not get all over their clothes, easier just to rinse off and the blood is gone. you can bet I would have shot that freak as well. you did the right thing. but of course the freak will get the upper hand in this one. your girlfriend owes you a big thanks, god only knows what would have happened had you not of handled it as properly as you did.

Tell them you thought he was a pervert, I mean why was he naked, in the bushes? Also if that is the one in the newspapers, he was just trying to prove a point to his girlfriend.
