because of the tartaric acid which makes them so sour, and then all that sugar that makes them so sweet. they're a fabulous invention!

Sour patch kids are good because they give your taste buds a shock because they are so sour. Kids find them good because they are different.

ahhh! i love sour patch kids -- i think they put something in them that makes them addictive..or it's the sugar: enough to make u want more, but not too much to make ya sick of 'em.

Because they make every popular flavor and cover them in sugar. You can not eat just one, they make it so good that you keep eating until your tongue hurts from all the sourness.
