Through personal experience, I would definately say that that is a true statement. The sweet is never as sweet without the sour. And therefore, things will always get worse before they get better, but the key to remember is that they will get better.

Most mythology suggest that one must struggle before one can have bliss. Examples include Hercules, Jason, and Jesus (the last having gone to hell before being able to get to heaven... or so the myth goes.)
