i have heard people for years now twist and use everyword written by man in this book filled with lies to tourment his fellow man and wish to set the record straight.
do not listen to what you see and hear but what is in your heart and if you hide from others and keep little secrets you are only fooling and kidding yourself.
If you must use the words of others to support your view you are not worthy of attention for those that have gone before you and those who are yet to come know not GOD but the GOD of others and have never found him in there own hearts and minds.GOD only wants man to live in peace not war to love and share not hoard and steal --to learn and share this truth ,not twist it for his own gain .man led by mans words and those who listen and take arms against there brothers surley miss out on knowing GOD the creator of all things .his mercy is tempered by his only message.
a prayer given to us by him forgive us our treaspasses as we forgive those who treaspass against us

IF you do not forgive others the lord will be un-able to forgive you .
so i implore all of you to begin to treat others kindly and share with them the knowledge of GOD and forgive them who do not find him for there actions never stopping them but only teaching them the truth and in this we will all live in peace.stoping your fellow man from his own path for his own good is against GODS wishes in time all will know the truth and it is not for anyman to pass judgement on his fellow man only the lords .PLEASE end all violence and allow all men to find GOD in there own way -live and let live not make rules and punish transgressors for you will only receive the same judgement by almighty GOD. IT is not up to you to decide for others what is right and wrong but to show them how to live in peace by showing them kindness ,understanding. THE bible was written by man and is flawed in so many areas and can be used to justify anyones veiw please do not miss the oppertunity to know and love God

The Bible is just one of many books purported to speak the stories of Jesus, etc. It has been translated, re-written and used to control the masses when they were illiterate and knew no better. Organized religion has been the cause of more wars on our planet than any other reason. I cannot speak for "god", and it irritates me when others say they are doing so. I believe that we all could live in peace, but it is unlikely to happen. Human nature being what it is, someone will always want what someone else has. I also believe in the "golden rule", which could do more good than any organized religion. Treat others with respect and kindness.

What standard do you hold yourself too?
Some people, including myself, needs something to aspire to.
Those who went before, used the same words. Words of hope, a map to seek righteousness in an unrighteous world. There has been more double standards and death supported by the liberal agenda in the last 20 years, Than Christianity could ever account for.
The question is the condition of your heart and soul, not mine.
Seek the truth that you might live, And get over your hatred.

many use things out of context because they don't understand. The Nazarene Himself said that many will claim to be coming in His name4 but at the end He won't recognize them because they are the modern-day Pharisees - those who live by the Law and not by Grace. Without Grace the law is unattainable and becomes a curse instead of a gift.

To answer your direct question:
- people (mostly Christians) quote the Bible, it is truth.
Just think about it like this: If you wanted "facts" wouldn't you look to a 'reliable source?"
well, the Bible is viewed as that "Reliable Source."
quoting scripture doesn't make a person right though...knowing how to apply it's teachings, and then actually "doing it" is what makes the difference.
God Bless.
(sorry to hear you're being hounded by Bible Thumpers! lol)

No matter who you are or what religion you are, the Bible has everything you need to know about living on the planet Earth. If every one would live by the rules in this book, they would be fine.

In the same way that Muslims quote the Koran, people need a crutch to hold their views up with, the stranger the view, the greater the need for the crutch.

i believe it is ok to use the words of the bible to explain why i live as i do, but you are free to live as you wish. that is one thing ppl overlook when reading the bible. God gave us all free will, and i am only responsible for how i live, not you or anyone else. i am a practicing christian, and i would love everyone to live for god, but that is their choice. i believe i should help others if they need it, and pray for them, but ultimately they have to make that decision on their own, and cramming it down their throats will not help them realize the truth. i dont hide behind god's word, i try to live it, but i dont believe god tells us to judge others. how do i know that what your doing is wrong, i'm not god. i only know what god puts on my heart, and if what i'm doing is wrong.

When you Quote the words of God, make sure you heard them from God. To quote from ANY writing is, just repeating second hand information.

The Bible is the best source for the view on how to live, but you have to know what it is saying to you. And unfortunately most people don't. It says what they want it to say, to fit what they believe in.
