Catfish is reasonable sometimes (4.99/ lb.) or Haddock might be even cheaper sometimes. Depends on the season, and I don't know what it is now.

Tilapia can be a little tough to pull off on the grill, it is too flakey and it is probably best breaded and fried. It may be a buck or so more a pound but I would definitely go with some type of tuna, Mahi Mahi is the best on the grill. Be careful not to overcook.

Tilapia is probably the least expensive, although you may want to try catfish or haddock, which also are not bad.

Check out your local grocery store's flyer each week; sometimes they have various fish on sale.

Tilapia. Not only is reasonably priced but it tastes great anyway you make it! Grill, bake, fry you name it! I like to wrap them in foil and season them with Emeril's "Lemon, Rosmary & Garlic" sauce, just be sure to spray the foil before putting the fish on or it's stick!

One more thing about Tilapia - it's very heathly for you!

Tilapia. I can sometimes get a deal at my local grocery store when they have a two for one sale on packaged Tilapia Fillets.

Just watch the sales. Sometimes you can luck out and get Salmon. One grocer here was selling nicely sized salmon filets for a dollar apiece not too long ago.

Salmon. Farm raised is less expensive that Alaskan. It holds up very well on a grill and a little goes a long way.

During salmon season when wild salmon are plentiful, the farm salmon sometime could be brought as low as $2.99/lb. They are excellent fish for grilling.

Tilapia seems to be the current best market value...available at all major chain stores and relatively inexpensive
