I weigh 225 as well. I work out 5 days a week for 6 months. Haven't lost a pound. But, I've lost a dress size, so don't worry about the numbers. Look at how the clothes fit, and how the people who know you are recognizing the difference. Muscle weighs more than fat

They say that you shouldn't lose more then 2-3 lbs a week. That is healthy. But since you are lifting weights, and doing sit ups, push ups and exercising (which I applaud you for) you will be turning fat into muscle. Since muscle weighs more then fat, you may not see the change as quickly on the scale. You will however, see it in the way that your clothes fit, and the way you feel. At 2 lbs a week, you should take about 12 weeks to take off 25 lbs. Good luck! I am proud of you for doing it!

Make sure that in addition to eating fruits and veggies that you stay away from foods high in fat, sugar, and carbs. If you work out 3-4 times a week and diet you should be losing an average of about 2 pounds a week, so your target weight could be SAFELY reached in about 3 months (12 weeks). You stand a better chance at keeping the weight off if you lose it slowly. Good luck.

Your weight lifting, push ups etc. will burn calories, so good for you! You are off to a great start. Your walks will need to be for 30 minutes minimum, and it will need to be brisk, not a leisurely walk by any means.
Limit these foods to once a week only: cheeses, sodas, fast foods, fried foods, sweet treats.
For the rest of the time eat normal meals, cut your portions back, and try to eat your carbs for breakfast and lunch. Eat good meals, drink alot of water, and make your exercises count, make them difficult to work hard. You should lose your weight if you do all these things in a couple of months, or a little less. Good for you for doing it the healthy way.

A healthy weight loss is 2 lbs per week. Any more than that and you are likely to gain it back. So to loose 24 lbs, it should take 12 weeks. But honestly, from personal experience, the bigger you are, the more you loose initially (up to 10 lbs in the first 2 weeks).

It's good, but don't overdo it. Your fruits and veggies should be between 3-5 servings of each per day. Watch your portions... this will also help you.. eat 5-6 very small meals each day- it regulates your metabolism for maximum fat burning. Drink 8 glasses of water each and every day. Als, try to avoid white starches and go for whole grains... eat wheat bread, and no soda. Cut down on red meat if you eat any- to 1-2 servings per week. A piece of meat should be the size of your fist or a deck of cards and no bigger.

Your exercising is good... I was 208 and now weigh 172, it took me 6 months. I did Tae Bo, I love his boot camp tapes, I also did Winsor Pilates Maximum Fat Burning, and Budokon which is a mix of Tae Chi and yoga. Good luck!!

IF you cut your calories to at least 500 less than your Resting Metabolic Rate, make sure you recieve 100% of all the Nutrients your body needs, add in a metabolism booster like green tea, and continue your workout you should lose about 2 pounds a week, so it should take you about 11 weeks +/-

YOu can safely lose 1-2 pounds a WEEK with a balanced diet and exercise.

Trying to lose weight faster than that can be detrimental to your health - and usually isn't weight that will stay off.

Slow and consistent and you'll be more successful in the long term
