Proverbs 3: 5, 6.
i was at the lowest point in my life 18 years ago. had a serious drug issue & was contimplating suicide when this scripture came to mind. i chanted it all night like a mantra until i fell asleep.
woke up the next day, looked in the mirror & saw the most beautiful woman i had ever seen in my whole life - me. i ain't talking about physical aesthetic - no - beyond that. i cried, gave myself a hug & decided that come what may, me & Jah got this.
just sharing this makes me well up...

well I'm not Xian but a couple that i do like is of course Matt 7:12 (golden rule), Luke 6:27-35 (telling to love your enemies and give your other cheek) and Cor 11:13 (when i was a child... blah blah when i became a man PUT AWAY MY CHILDISH WAYS) to me that verse has different meaning though, to put away childish ways to me means to question what I'm told and think for myself not believe in something because my parents or a 2000 yr old book told me to. I never did believe in god, always found it rather foolish to have faith based beliefs, thats part of maturing and becoming a man IMO. Not quite what I think the bible meant by it, the bible seems to encourage the opposite to do as your told and to not eat from the tree of knowledge... to stay dumb and do as your told philosophy which i couldn't disagree more but that is a few of my favourite verses...

I forget what book it is in but I know the apostle Paul wrote it. Up until I became converted I considered life merely a physical challenge-thinking if I tried hard enough I could overcome my adversary. And I did so as much as possible, even if it meant hurting them physically but especially emotionally through condemnation and ridicule. However, shortly after I first believed so many of the things Christ taught and did began to make much more sense when I finally believed what Paul said "we wrestle not against flesh and blood..." And in another place he said something like this; "Though we walk in the flesh we do not war after the flesh-for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal." When I realized that not only could I not see my real enemy neither could I hold on to something in my own hands to overcome him; then is when I knew that I was in a real fight!

I know it's fairly popular, but the most lasting on me was 1 Corinthians 13...LOVE. Love all people, and GOD. I was at a point when I wasn't sure if GOD existed. I didn't know what to believe then these two guys I worked with took time to answer all my questions, and put up with my skepticism, but they never stopped loving me a fellow person, and after a couple years of them being patient I came around. But I really saw that we need to love all people no matter who they are or what they believe. They were great to me and that kind of love needs to be passed on. Never judge others. All we have is each other after all.

The bible is propaganda used to lead the weakminded and desperate. I believe in morality, honesty, and being good to my fellow man, and I don't need a worthless book to tell me to do so. But for some reason all you bible thumpers seem to think I am I bad person because I don't believe in it. When in fact, I am a better person than most people are. I do good things because I tell myself to do so. If you need a book to tell you that, then your not strong enough inside, and a book will never help you. Believe in yourself.

Luke 22:36 And he said to them, But now, he who has a money-bag, or a bag for food, let him take it: and he who has not, let him give his coat for money and get a sword. Jesus told his Diciples to do what ever it was they had to do to get a sword....To me this didnt feel right coming from a man of peace....so I studied further and found out that the Historical Jesus might have been somewhat of a revolutionary rather then a Peacfull Savior of man.
