I've seen taht samrt ppeole tinhg bferoe. It's a Hoot!
Spelling is not taught in schools as much as it used to be. It has taken a back burner (along with grammar) to more sociology related courses. You would be horrified by how many high school graduates are illiterate. Some people on here are just learning the language and just need a little help and encouragement. Others just write the way they talk. I remember in high school that on any of my assignments spelling did not count. I love the Check Spelling feature they have on here. I use to think I was a bad speller until I started using it. I don't make as many mistakes as I thought I did (considering I am dyslexic). Some are kids that haven't learned yet. And some are just minor typos. There are a FEW who just don't care. When typing fast, mistakes are made.

1) Text messages = fast mind to computer translations. Often faster than the fingers. Not e veryone wants to linger on each word and sentence to make sure its typed perfect.
2) If writing with pen on paper, these same peo0ple can demonstrate a dramatically different style, way better than thier computer writing.
3) As stated earlier, the mind can read words spelled wrong. I personally think this helps the brain by causing your mind to scan posibilities and choose a answer vs the obvious word, therefore "brain exorcise" and you dont even realise it.
4) Spell checking (like in MS WORD) is very good and getting better. Looks like there could be a typo holocaust.
5) Typos dont bother me, but deliberate pc ebonics which lengthen instead of shorten words does.
