I currently hold a valid UK First Aid Cert that includes CPR training. I am looking to begin teaching in the States, but need a CPR training. Can I use my UK cert to apply for US certification?

Is your cert through the Red Cross, Heart Association, or some other group?

If Red Cross, it might be OK. Pop into your nearest Red Cross chapter house and see.

We are in the midst of changing protocols anyway, so this might be a good time to renew everything one way or the other.

I'm not sure, but to get CPR certified here is easy enough, the classes aren't long at all. go to any college, the counselors can help you figure out what you need to do. Plus, if the skills are the same here as there, you may be able to just take a refresher course to be certified here.
Good luck, and thanks for learning lifesaving skills, and helping others learn!

Check with your local Red Cross chapter and see what the requirements are.

I would contact the Red Cross and find out for sure.
