It seems to me that Christian men (and no I am not referring to being extreme here) don't exist. I don't think that any men still want to follow Christ because they don't want to go against the grain of popular opinion, and Chrisitanity is definatly against the grain of popular opinion. I don't see any people who truly follow the Bible only the parts that they like.

Well, I don't think anybody is perfect at all. But, it is agaisnt popular opinion in most countries to be Christian. But, anyway that's a whole different can of worms. I am not saying people don't have problems, and no one is perfect, nor will they ever be. I won't start a discussion about how unpopular and how much flak I get for being a Christian at college, cause that's another topic entirely. I suppose it could be that the majority of guys at college are not religious affliated.

And by picking and choosing what parts of the Bible to follow, I don't mean they follow every rule perfectly, because no one can do that. I mean I just see the BIG stuff being ignored and pushed aside. And forgive my mispelling of against in the earlier post.

They do. My wife married one :-)
I have a good friend from college who is in the same situation as yourself. She's having trouble finding a man whose faith journey would be uplifting to her - one whose faith is close enough to not cause problems.
I'll give you the same advice I gave her: if the difference in belief will not impact your relationship, move past it.
My friend had difficulty with guys who would drink excessively on Saturday but not think of it on Sunday (she also had trouble with one who more or less ordered her to not have a glass of wine at dinner; she reads drunkenness to be the sin, not moderate drinking while he read all alcohol to be sinful). This is something that deeply impacts the relationship.
But she also broke things off with one guy because he thought that gay marriage was legal under the Constitution even though Scripture forbids it, and she felt that, as a Christian country, it shouldn't be allowed. This would not have impacted their relationship (he had a separate view of Christian marriage as being holier and more sacred than secular marriage; she saw secular marriage as a sad depreciation of sacred marriage; but nonetheless they agreed on the importance and sacredness of Christian marriage; it would've been a nice match), and who knows, she may have helped him change his mind through marriage.
I don't know exactly what you've found difficult to reconcile, and I won't question it. You have to live up to your beliefs, and those close to you should help you live up to that. Point is, ignore those things that neither bring down your walk nor interfere with your relationship.

Christian men should be Christ-like correct? The problem is that you don't see the men that truly are devoted to God because many times they are very much closed in to keep that devotion. Otherwise you find (very often) the guys that would like that devotion but (as with most men) get distracted by the constant barrage of the world around them. Its just that too many men are not strong enough to stand and do what is right because too many others show them that being soft (no integrity) is alright.
"A stone cutter will chisel at a stone 99 times and on the 100th time it breaks. I know it wasn't the 100th time that broke it but the 99 before."
Hopefully that quote can help shed some light. We all if not sheltered or believing strongly in God will possibly loose our integrity and be made into what you have been seeing in most men.
My answer is that they still exist, and they still go against popular opinion, and that they still follow the Bible. I am one of them. Have a little faith in God to show you those guys.

I'm a christian and I've learned to use the bible as more of a guide then a verbatim rule book. I think its important to read the bible and even more important to understand it, and why some of the things that were done, were done.
To really answer your question though, man is not perfect, so you probably will not find someone who has not disobeyed some part of the bible before. The bible says not to eat any part of a pig, for example...but yet, unless the person is a vegetarian, then I'm sure everyone eats ham, bacon, or some other pork product. I don't think we go to hell for doing that. I think they had their own reasons for doing that back in the day.

Yes, Jesus has not come for the Church, when that happened there will no Christians at all. Man or woman, then people will be again lead to Christ. And will until the end of the Millennium Rule of Christ after the Seven Years of Tribulation. And then after all who still are will be believers as strong as any you could think of being strong in the faith. And I have known of some of those, who follow faithfully still without a care to what the world might think of what they say, do, or think about them concerning their believes.
The Church, the Christian Church still has them but fewer then it has had in the past I fear. Since the tribulation is coming and that the USA believers are sometimes lazy, and not strong in our faith. We seem to rarely stand up when it is time to witness and we rarely do anything. The Church in the USA is luke warm(1) and does not seem to want to move away from that! It thinks that everything is save but I've got a feeling something one day, in this next generation of believers. That we will even suffer persecuation here in this land of the not so free and not so brave.
(1)Revelation 3:15-20: 15: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,[g] I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

I don't like to judge, To me the reason there is a grain to go against is because it would have to take Faith to do it,Huh? And for the most part as a christian I don't get down on myself for not walking on water as of yet,But I realize that as long as I strive to do better,God will supply the Grace to fill in the gap of my shortcomings. For some reason most people don't think I believe in God,The one who keeps the sun from exploding or sending off a huge solar flare propelling it towards us or out of orbit. But I do,And God Knows it and I don't care what people think.Because caring what people thought is what drove me in the wrong direction. So as long as GOD is satisfied with me I am satisfied.May GOD Bless You.Take care.

I think it is a sad fact that there are very few. I've also been witness to the fact that in many Christian churches it is the women who are having to be the strong leaders in things like intercessory prayer and praise & worship. However, strong Christian men do exist, and I thank the Lord every day I am married to one of them! Hey guys, get on your knees and ask God to lead you in being the strong men of Christ we desperately need today! And to those of you who already are, THANK YOU!!!

There are true Christian men out these still (I know because I am one). Part of what you mentioned is interpretation (I don't know if you have a denomination or if that matters at all to you), but there are plenty of real Christian men out there... but no one's perfect. If you want proof though, check out the book Wild at Heart about becoming a real Christian man, who God made us to be. Just out of the book existing shows that it's something on people's minds and that there are guys out there trying to learn to be godly friends, brothers, sons, boyfriends, husbands, etc. Blessings,
Brian

I would not be so vain as to claim that I am Christian; 'like Christ', but I will say that I follow Christs teachings to the best of my ability regardless of the popularity of any part of it.
This I believe; http://homelessheart.com/testimony.htm

I know 2 really great Christian men. One is a missionary, and one is a director at a bible camp. Both are taken, but I can honestly say they are out there.
