Wow..........I think that sounds quite beautiful especially on beautiful dark skin. It's funny that you would ask this question because I use to work with a gentleman a few years back who was from Africa and he had red hair, pail skin with freckle's. I mentioned to him that I had never seen a black man with red hair and he told me that everyone in his tribe, back in his home country, all have red hair.

Apparently somewhere in your ancestry, you may have family originating from this tribe. I'm sure you know that we carry all of our ancestors gene's. It's the dominate gene that gives us our characteristics.

Don't fret, there is nothing wrong. We all (Black's) come from Africa. It's just real sad that we can probably never find out where our true home land may have been because of slavery separating families.

Stay sweet and strut that red hair.

It's simple. It's not weird or strange. It's completely unique and beautiful. It's a blessing from God. Embrace it, love and allow it to make you stronger. I am an African American with red hair and freckles. My hair changes colors naturally when it rains and with the seasons, which is something my father pointed out to me. It's not a white trait ONLY, full blooded Africans have red hair. Research your family history if you truly want to know who else in your family had red hair. It would be great to know.

Red hair is the recessive trait. This means that both of your parents must have some sort of ancestry that is white. When genes come together (one from each parent) if it were the dominant gene, you would probably have brown/black hair or whatever color their hair is. However, each parent transferred a recessive gene to you, and so you ended up with red hair. I would not be surprised if some distant relatives of yours have red hair, too.

My niece has red hair and she is so beautiful. It was strange at first, but it is natural. It comes from your roots, your family history. This happens with Caucasians too the parents can have blond hair and their child may have red hair from a great great grandfather. I'm sure your hair beautiful and the envy of many.

*You don't have to have white ancestry to have red hair thats not true, but it is common*

It's one of those skip a generation or two genetic things. I know someone caucasian ,who's great aunt had red hair, that married a african american and their first born had red hair.

Someone in your family had red hair. It decided to show itself again in you. Embrace your red hair it's awesome!

there are multiple genes that go into hair color. Some are dominant, some are recessive. If both parents carry the recessive red hair genes, and you get them, you get red hair.

It's going to end up being something genetic. I am a black man and my mother and my niece both have red hair. Hey, go figure...
