Well, since you only outlawed Chinese restaurants . . . there is a wonderful blue icee/slurpee/slushee drink, I forget if it is Seven-Eleven or one of the QuickTrip stores. My ex loves it. And yes, for the curious, it does make your lips and teeth and tongue blue and, he informs me, the next day you have blue poop. Which we have named Bloops. He will e-mail me to tell me that he has Bloops.

Why don't blueberries count? They are food. What about blue corn? Blackberries are actually blue and there are blue potatoes. There is also a blue grain used to make foods called atole.
Overall, I would say that blue food generally unappealing to most~blue meat~eeeewwwwwww

There were studies done, like twenty years ago, where a big batch of Spaghetti was made, and half of it got blue food coloring. People were given a plate of both and asked which tasted better, and they picked the normal color every time. I'll see if I can find anything about that...

Blue is actually a very expensive color to make. In nature, many animals don't make blue pigments because it takes a lot of energy to make that blue color, and for food companies to make blue food as well it is typically expensive monetarily being that blue isn't easy to make. There is some blue food (m&m's, ice pops, etc) but usually they involve some sort of sugar or sugar coating on them.

mainly because food comes from natural sources -- "natural" colors are greens and yellows (plants), reds and browns (animals), with a few exotic ones (orange, reds, etc.). Other than blueberries, there aren't a whole lot of natural food sources that are blue.
Now *non-natural* blue sources...blue curacao. Yum. :)

It's not very appealing, there probably is blue food in other countries that turly appreciate their cuisine or are poor, but the typical American wouldn't eat blue food

Well eggplants are sort of blue when cooked, also there's blue cheese. I'm not really sure, but i think that it would be quite interesting if there were blue food.
