and why do they call illegal people 'illegal aliens' if they come from the earth and not from outer space. and other people say that they should "return to sender" but i actually see mexicans looking towards the future and some racist people don't caring at all because they think they can have it all without working.

I should mention that saying the term "illegal aliens" is not at all racist. Because illegal aliens may very well be of the same race (however you would like to define that). I suggest you to take a course on immigration or race divisions in America.
People are inherently racist because we tend to dislike things we can't relate to. This is human nature; however, this isn't to say we should be racist. The best way to not be racist is for people to learn about their racial culture and to understand ethnic values. Sorry, I can't fully explain this as it would take many and many verbose scholarly journals to explain in full. But humans use race, religion, nation, family.. etc. as factors of division. This division alone causes friction in our society.

First of all, the are racist people in all countries form all walks of life. It has always been that way and always will. It stems from a lack of education or in many cases, they have been taught to be racist. As far as the recent events about immigration in the United States, the Mexicans have made a HUGE error in the way they chose to protest. Far too many Mexican flags were displayed and most Americans find this extremely "racist" and offensive. How stupid it was to try to convince Americans to let "undocumented" persons stay in the USA by offending the people whose opinion and vote is needed to make it happen. In my opinion, the only way to fix this is for the Mexicans and flag wavers of other countries to make very sincere apologies for their "racist" conduct and make sure it never happens again.

alien doesn't necessarily mean someone from outer space.
foreigner, alien, non citizen, out-lander:
a person who comes from a foreign country; someone who does not owe allegiance to your country.
however I'm pretty sure that some illegal immigrants work so hard and would love to adjust their status.
there may be some who take advantage of the system like some people have mentioned in other questions but i still don't believe that all illegal immigrants are so bad that they deserve to be blown up by land mines.

people are racist for a lot of reasons. they are poor and afraid of someone taking their job for less money. They are ignorant of what immigration is truly about. They have been taught to hate. I wonder how many people who answered this have parents or grandparents who don't speak english very well. Millions of Italians, Germans, Poles, Greeks, and dozens of other foreign people have moved here over the last 150 years. How many of their grandchildren or great grandchildren know any of the "mother" language at all?
Oh and to Yars who had that question about knobs? Every knob that is turned to the right will eventually get turned back to the left, and every knob that is turned to the left will eventually get turned back to the right. Some knobs, like base, treble and balance on a radio, are set to a zero point and can go either right (up) OR left (down). Others, like volume can be made louder (right) or softer (left). I would imagine that even you realize that a steering wheel, which is a type of knob can be turned left or right.

An alien is a legal term used by our government to describe a person who did not originate from this country. There are resident aliens and illegal aliens.
Mexicans look towards the future in what way? How are they contributing to our society?
Just because people want our immigration laws to be enforced and do not want the drain on our economy and tax dollars does not make them racist. It makes them someone who wants our laws to be enforced and our economy and tax dollars to not be drained.

Are you sure you are old enough to be on here? You are so uninformed! Either that or you do not know how to think logically and rationally. It is NOT racist to be AGAINST ILLEGAL immigrants (or aliens) in our country. It would be racist to discriminate against someone due to their skin colour or due to their ethnicity, but being against illegal immigrants is not about skin colour or ethnicity because illegal immigrants come in all colours, shapes and sizes and from countries all over the world - there is no discrimination about it! American society embraces and encourages LEGAL immigration! That is NOT racist!

As for the racism thing there are a lot of people who forget that they are decended from immigrants and have this fear instilled in them by polititians that new immigrants will destroy their lives.

same here....they're are just ignorant and don't know any better. Some people we just can't change as bad as we want to. We just have to accept the fact that there will always be racists everywhere we go. That doesn't mean thatjust because other people choose to be racist that we do though. I never stero-type either because I hate it when people stero-type me because I am black......and NO I don't like chicken! LOL
