If you feel that it's affecting you then yes. They wear the white masks because they are inhailing the fumes the whole day.

Wearing the mask is up to you. I would go ahead and wear the mask just to be on the safe side. While in a salon, you are inhaling tons of fumes that can be harmful to both you and your baby. About the massages, I would recommend that you don't do it. Many pregnant women are more pron to clots, and there are even articles about the DVT clots, so whether you are pregnant or not, I do not suggestion getting a calf massage.

For the short time you're in the salon, I wouldn't worry about the fumes. I had occasional pedicures while I was pregnant with both of my kids, and they're fine. One thing to look out for though...If you have swollen ankles, putting them in the hot water for your pedicure and having the water swirl around them might make the swelling worse. Also, if you're going to the type of place that does the full leg massage (ankle to knee) tell them not to rub too hard. I read that this can be bad if you have a blood clot in your leg...pregnant women are apparently more prone to blood clots in their legs than other people. I'm so jealous...I want a pedicure!

The people who wear those whit masks do the pedicures and manicures for a living, they are breathing in those fumes and the dusts every day, you are however, not. Wearing a mask would look silly, but if you are that concerned for your health, go ahead.

You are 7 months pregnant. if you are going into a shop that is doing the fake nails even if you can smell the chemicals you should take precautions. Also if it is a shop that is giving perms you should take precautions. The massages are great for your circulation, knock yourself out. Congratulations on your new addition. Good Luck.

fumes can be harmful...and i think u should not take the pedicure...at times the foot massage is known to hv triggered preterm labour....so just play safe u r in the 3rd trimester so its not a long way anyways

also, pls skip the massage if it has to do with your back or tummy, except of course if u hv a pregnancy certified masseuse

No. They wear the mask bc they are trying to avoid inhaling fumes, nail dusk, and toe jam (ha ha ha). i wouldn't worry about it, I get my nails and toes done every 2 weeks and Im ok. Have a good time. And make sure u alwasy take care of urself, bc no one else can't do for you, what ur not willing to do for urself. :)

If you are carrying any nail polish shouldn't be worn the chemicals might have a effect on the development of the baby.

I think that you are pretty safe with this, and if you just think about it your baby is going to be smelling worst things as soon as it comes into the world so..I believe its not a bad thing.
