um...They just go. That's what a bedpan is for. There bowels are relaxed so when they get full everything is just...released. Gross but true.

They do open their bowels, and as they're in a coma, their anal spincter muscles are no longer controlled voluntarily. So the autonomic nervous system controls it, and will cause the spincter muscles to relax to release faecal matter when the rectum is full.

I'm sure they recieve bowel programs, unless they have a clostemy bag

I am sure the hosptial puts a depends like thing on them. But not sure. Also nothing going in but fluid really, so not too much to come out. Just my guess.

when your in a coma the life support machines take care of it all,feeding and wastage are done by the machine.x

if they are not eating solids they do not go normally and certainly dont use a bed pan they are in disposables they dont go much at all after awhile and have a catheter for urine
