There are no facts that support global warming and less that support that any global warming is caused by humans.

The earth has gone through many warming and cooling trends over its life time and will continue to do so long after we're gone.

In a hundred thousand years there will be a call for everyone on earth to light a camp fire to help warm the earth when it is going through a cooling trend.

I am beyond sick when I read the answers people have given!! What complete fools!!!

Here is a real answer.

Global Warming is a very serious issue. The 1990's have been the warmest tempatures in the entire millenium. Our earth's surface tempature has gone up 1 degree farenit. This does not sound like alot, but it only took 4 degrees farenit to shift us at our last ice age.

Global Warming is real. And it is an issue we need to address. We need to vote for people who will help us and encourage up to make a difference. Wind and solar power. There are many things, but we need to act on them.

Anyone who says this is not a problem needs to get better educated as well as open their eyes to the events around us. All of these storms and weather chages that are becoming more and more are happening for a reason.

The average global temperature rose 0.6 ± 0.2 °Celsius over the 20th century, and the scientific opinion on climate change is that it is likely that "most of the warming observed over the last 50 years is attributable to human activities". An increase in global temperatures can in turn cause other changes, including a rising sea level and changes in the amount and pattern of precipitation. These changes may increase the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, such as floods, droughts, heat waves, hurricanes, and tornados.

There are four categories of actions that can be taken to mitigate global warming:

1. Reduction of energy use (conservation)
2. Shifting from carbon-based fossil fuels to alternative energy sources
3. Carbon capture and storage
4. Carbon sequestration

The Earth goes threw natural cycles of climate change. We have actually been in a relatively cooler period the last 20,000 years or so, basically since the last ice age. These events are normal. There is nothing we need to do nor should do. We are not powerful enough to change the climate of the entire planet if we wanted to. Earth is an amazing mechanism and far too powerful and massive for us to influence. Global climate is most largely effected by the amount solar activity (solar flares), tilt and wobble of Earth's axis, and the natural production and neutralization processes of the Earth (not man).

Global warming is just a big scam, the same way Y2K was, And even if it were happening how do we know it would be such a bad thing? If you look in the Bible before the Flood, the world was in a greenhouse effect.

I wouldn't get too excited, yet. I watched the Discovery special on the eruption of Krakatau in 1883 and they mentioned that the eruption darkened the skies and lowered the temperature of the earth well into the 20th century.

Our "global warming" issue may well be the Earth returning to normal after Krakatau.

Whether or not it's serious right now, it's better to get in the habit of recycling, polluting less, taking public transportation, etc. Otherwise, by the time it gets serious enough that people start worrying about it, it might be too late to stop it. So act as if it is a big danger, because, as far as we know, it just might be.

The world might not like to HEAR it, but every country in the world needs to start planting TREES, which absorb carbon DIOXIDE and at the same time, give off the oxygen which WE need.

The world needs to plant literally billions of BILLIONS of trees, and starting NOW. The OIL that is being used is dumping millions of tons of carbon dioxide rapidly into the atmosphere every day. Big money and big OIL WANTS you to think oil is fine.

Carbon monoxide from OIL is the main 'greenhouse' gas. Blaming methane from 'cows' and other sources is NOT the solution, but rather a red herring.
Tying up the carbon in TREES and VEGETATION is the answer.

Global warming is growing day by day and it is a very serious problem.
We can not stop it but can minimize it by
-using CFC free refrigerator
-Stop using instruments that emit more of Carbon dioxide
-Use solar energy instesd of using electricity

North america is having a more temperate climate.
Europe is experiencing the coldest winters and the hottest summers in a really long time
I'm not quite sure if it is that much of a worry. I was wondering myself. You always get the extreme nswers, never the truth.
