We had a shepherd mix that lived to be 14. Just take good care of her and keep her healthy. The average age for larger breed dogs is 10 to 14 years.

Mine is 12 and still going strong. Although the breed tends to have hip problems. I believe they stick around for about 14 years. Depends though

smaller dogs live longer than larger ones. I work for an animal rescue group, and someone recently adopted one of my fosters, a border collie (about same size & activity level of yours), and they said they had theirs for 15 years. But, good health care plays a huge part in how long your dog will be with you. Good nutrition, excercise they need it to maintain a long life

I would say the average is about 12 years. Many can live years longer with proper diet, exercise and vet care.
Good luck! I'm glad you have found a new friend!
