Do you have to be under a certain income for them to lower the cost of birth? Do they factor the father's income if we are not married? I plan on holding of on signing the birth certificate until I know it's mine. Will that make it easier to get the charity discount if there is no named father?

She should talk to personal in the hospital office and find out if they still have the indigent programs for people who can't afford to pay the stay in the hospital. If they don't have the program any more make some arrangements for payments. It will show some responsibilities from you part for trying to make an afford to pay the bill.
Some states have clinics for people like her your girl friend who can't afford the hopital or the doctor.
some doctors have their own clinics too where she can have her baby. Do something for the mother and child, instead of blaming someone else for what you did. Because I don't think you are responsible yet to do that. (Also you didn't say how old both of you are). Maybe both are to young and that is part of why you are concern about the baby being born. Let your parents know and see if they can help. Good luck and I pray that you love that baby that didn't ask to be in the middle of a problem. Take care and good luck

Check into medicaid they give pregnant women medicaid for the nine months of their pregnancy and i thin a couple months after the baby is born. Im pretty you will qualify with little or no income. Also they can set you up with other things food stamps, and tanf. Some people may feel too good for welfare but when you need help you need help. Dont let your baby suffer because of dumb decisions by the parents. This baby needs medical care to make sure it is healthy i would check into medicaid that the best option i have for you and if you qualify they pay for everything.

I believe the bill goes to her since she is the one having the baby and not you. No they can't get you becaue your not married your bills are different from her bills. But why doesnt she just get on some kind of welfare or something to where the state would pay for that?

call your local job and family services office. they would have references for you. without knowing what area you're in there is no way to tell you specifically what programs are available to you. good luck.
