If yahoo answers was around 500 years ago, I would be banging at my keyboard the following:
What happens to fundamentalist Christianity when it is accepted in science that there is a heliocentric solar system.
Would there have been people who would have banged away no the bible says x, y, and z about the Earth is in the center, and there are loopholes to the Theory of Heliocentric solar system?
Are there any fundamentalist Christians who believe as they did 500 years ago, that the Earth is the center of the solar system?
In 500 years, in 2506, will there still be Christians who believe the literal Adam and Eve?

Assuming this is a serious question, and not just you ranting, then yes, there most assuredly were people that claimed there were loopholes in the heliocentric system. As a matter of fact, I haven't checked lately, but up until about 6 years ago there was a group called the "International Flat Earth Society" that even had a website dedicated to preserving the ancient idea of the earth being flat and the center of the universe. They tended to rant a lot, too.
Most assuredly, in 500 years, there will be Christians who believe in a literal Adam and Eve, unless the Muslims succeed in wiping everybody else out first. Look what's happening in the world, bub. It's those guys we need to worry about, not conservative Christians. What's going on in Africa now will be happening here in a couple of generations. Civilization as we now know it will be in jeopardy.

The Bible shows no longer some thing yet mercy at the same time as it contains smooth people. I say smooth because typically those who commit suicide are more desirable tender and smooth (my view/adventure); your brother is with angels, he went to a healing position. I firmly trust this. Love x playstation ) there is an abundance of evidence for the time of: the Bible is complete of prices on how those who suffered in this existence will be dealt with in the subsequent, will acquire love and care, that is each and each of the Bible is about. like the first man or woman who spoke back suggested and the Bible says it too, that is the way you're taking care of others that concerns, no longer the way you die. similar to a body will be damaged so can a soul be. that is why your brother went to a healing position the position there is purely peace & splendor.

It's happened many times before. The bible is taken as literal truth, and they fight tooth and nail to beat science down whenever it's contradicted. *Eventually* common sense and logic wins out, and the excuse becomes that it was a metaphor all along. Suddenly the Earth is the "figurative" center of the universe, because it's so important. See how easy it is to pretend you were right all along?

ALL Science, The Laws that govern the functioning of this physical universe, was put in place by God(a Christian's POV). It is the ignorance of man that was, and is, behind belief such as you mention. Those mis beliefs have nothing to do with The Bible or The Word and Will of God(Christian POV). ALL Science is good. It is mans poor stewardship of what God has provided that causes bad use of Science. Man is free to be as ignorant as he wants to be.

In fact, a fellow named Galileo was taken to task by the Holy Mother Church for his heretical views on precisely this point. And by they way, in these cases the accused could easily lose his life for such heresies.
