I prefer polyethylene (PE) over polypropylene (PP). After time the PP bottles get hard and brittle after exposure to acids and cold temperatures. PP bottles also have a tendancy to stain and absorb chemicals. PE bottles stay flexible and are easier to clean.

Okay, it looks like everyone is very busy giving you ridiculous answers. Lets try something that is closer to the truth. Some plastic bottles (I believe it is a rating of 4 or lower) are believed to release a chemical that is similar to a synthetic hormone, or to be a little more exact, estrogen. This is being linked to breast cancer, prostrate cancer, etc.. Glass and stainless (not aluminum) bottles do not contain these chemicals. The jury is still out on this, however as the mother of two teenagers, and someone who keeps their eye on nutrition for a living, I am not taking any chances.

Both are acceptable for use with acid. Polypropylene will probably stand up to repeated washings a touch better.

Polypro is Probably the one most often used for containers anyway. But it still depends on the Acid you will be using to clean with.
