We see evidence of people talking the talk, but do they walk the walk. This question is for anyone of any religion or none at all.

that is not a question that can so simply be answered. sure you have those that talk the talk. they pride themselves on being a a true christian but then they will turn away from someone who is not the same color or sexual preference. and sure homosexuality according to christianity is a sin but also the bible states that a sin is a sin. no matter how great or small and the only unforgivable sin is not believing in the father and our jobs as christians is to produce fruit for the father yet if you are too busy turning your back on those who love the same sex or are living a life of sex drugs n rock n roll etc etc how are you able to produce adaquate fruit?

then again there are those who talk the talk and walk the walk. as best they can. i think somewhere in the bible it says as far as preachers going n their being corrupt that we should follow their teachings and not their actions.

Sometimes. Im going to use myself as an example.

Whose walk do we follow? I got saved in a Baptist Church. As I grew up, I made some bad choices. I vowed not to have sex before marriage. I had a wonderful boyfriend. When we split up, I acted out of lonliness, and got pregnant at 17. My vow went right out the window. From there, Ive been divorced, stopped church, etc. From all my Bapsist friends, I do not "walk their walk".

Fact is, I walk mine. My belief system has changed somewhat, and I believe I will answer to God for my life, and since THEY will not answer for my life, my "walk" is between God and myself. Just because some of my behavior doesnt imitate what man created religion says it should, it does not mean I do not believe, and in fact, I have more belief than some that do "walk the walk"

Not perfect, just forgiven? There are only two people who knows if someone truly believes. That person and God. Everything else is just opinion.

Ya well here is the twisted part they are walking the "religion" not what God says, man has put words in God's mouth as to laying down laws that God never said were wrong. For example, when the kings had multiple wives or mistresses, I didnt see God frown upon that? Jesus turned the empty pots holding the wine and made more by turning the water into wine. They had drank all that wine and He made more! So Im sure with all those gallons of wine they got drunk. people don't look into the things that are free to do, we have the liberty more than we think but because the "church" says so, "we have to follow the pastors rules" Romans 14:14,20 .... noting is unclean of itself...all things are clean. Its not what we do or don't do that gets us into heaven, but God looks at our hearts because a pastor (ex) in the church can be all "loving, awesome, and wonderful teachings" kind of person but in his heart is greed and take money from the church to support his lifestyle outside of the church. Do you really think that God is just going to let him into heaven with the "good works" he has done? No his heart is what God judges.

You may think I'm cheating with this answer, but I'm not. They truly believe what they believe. The power of free will allows our brains to overthink our hearts, and sometimes that's for the best, and sometimes it not.

Remember, Paul was very happy that there were some not-so-devout followers who were preaching the Good News, whether or not they truly believed, because the result was still that the Good News was preached!

I talk the talk and walk the walk. It may seem confusing to people at times because I can get sarcastic on here (which isn't always readable online) and then they don't know how to take me. But I am a true follower of Jesus Christ, belonging to a Non-Denominational church that allows anyone who believes in God to worship Him freely at our Sunday services. I live the way I preach and preach the way I live. It's incredibly refreshing.

A confession with the lips does not mean much in this world.

While a spirit is in the physical body the thought and speech can be at variance as is the case especially with liars.

In the next life, the speech will come directly from the thought or what is the same "the thought speaking."

I agree with you 100% but I tend to shy away from discussing this topic outside of bible believing circles. the reason for this is that so many religions are depending on thier walk to as a way to heaven and in so doing miss the plan of salvation all together.

I'm sure not every person on here, no matter what religion, lives a perfect life and is always "walking the walk"

Believe? Do you mean believe as in call themselves a Christian?
I am a Chrisitan and I believe that Jesus died to pay the penalty for my sins and rose from the grave to purchase a place in heaven for me. By believing; placing my trust in this gospel of Jesus Christ, I know I will go to heaven. Does this mean that I don't sin? No. The bible tells us that we all have sinned. What it does mean is that I truly believe (I know) that my sins are forgiven. The bible tells us in 1John 5: 13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
In Jesus, I have no doubt, not one.
PS Chrisitanity is the only religion where God forgives our sin.

No one is perfect. I suppose the standard would be something like how well does a person act as they speak. There are too many who loudly claim faith, humility (Uriah Heep), friendship, etc. who are nothing of the kind. Just as many do try, at least part of the time...
