They could very well be in the same realm. Scientologists have a lot of good theories about mankind, but they trade in some sanity for belief in an ancient evil galactic warlord.

But the same could be said about any religion really.

I find Scientology to be considerably less believable than Christianity. Although this is because, when looking at the origins of the two religions, it's easier to see the insanity (for want of a better term) inherent in Scientology.

even if Christianity in the present day is pretend ( the clarification for why scientology became waiting to impression brains) even if the actual undeniable actuality that the Christians a minimum of do remember on a author makes it more effective positive than scientology.

In theory ANY religion is a ridiculous concept..but I guess that would be where the faith part comes in.

What is ASTOUNDING to me is that anyone with a functioning brain cell can embrace Scientology when it was founded by a Science Fiction writer!!!!

Christianity is harder to disprove because it happened so long ago, there aren't sufficient historical documents to prove or disprove everything. (although enough to discredit it completely of course)

With scientology tho, its only just over 50 yrs old, and is easily taken apart from top to bottom.

As scientology is a pseudo-scientific cult and not a religion (pseudo-religious i suppose) it does not warrant the same social acceptance or freedoms.

Not a chance! It's based off a science fiction book that someone put together to make as much money as they could! And then there's Scientology...

They are both unbelievable, however, Scientology is worse. Not all churches are hurtfull and cultlike. Scientology IS a cult- they call themselves a religion for tax purposes only.

This is one of the most absurd statements that I have seen on this site. Only an idiot would find scientology even the least bit believable.

Actually, on the surface, Scientology makes a little sense. It's brainwashing people to make them happy, but it makes sense. It's when the aliens invade our brains and such that it gets a little funky.

But hell, I'd say it's more believable than that other story. :)
