Well I think Koolkim911 Has told the truth, and she is 13 yrs-old, Let's give her parents a big hand because they are raising an honest little girl there...
But, my answer would go like this, I think the amount of money that a child receives all depends on the child and what it is the child does for & with the money.
I honestly do not think a child should be just giving money unless it's for a birthday or x-mas or from a grandparent etc.....and that money should be put up into a bank torwards savings, as far as the money they are allowed to have in their pockets it should be earned from chores and little extra jobs that they do around the house. or cutting grass etc...
that way it becomes a lesson for them to understand how money is gotten "The Right Way" and it also makes them understand the value of a dollar, I know cause I am in the process of teaching my children this same thing........
I think it is getting through to them because I made it very clear that if they do not do what they are suppose to do, they will be very broke this summer. ( =
So For the Amount: $5.00 per week = $20.00 per month
For special occassions like the movies with friend: $20.00 Or a Amusement Park or something: $25.00
That's fair to me.

Depends on how they are earning it. My 8 year old delivers papers and earns on average $20 per week. Of that half has to go into his bank. Of the half remaining he donates $2 to a charity of his choice (to let him know that not everyone is as lucky as he is). That leave him $8 per week to spend. Any spending has to be approved by his parents. He actually is pretty responsible and usually saves his $8. Or he may use it for extra piano lessons. Letting children have money and use it to budget is a great life skill for them to develop. As he gets older we'll give him a clothing allowance to stick to. Hopefully by the time he's done university he'll have the financial skills he needs to do well in the world.

I would say that if your 13 year old is depending just on you for money set up a budget (say $30/month for clothing and $20 for entertainment), and make them stick to it. If their money runs out before the end of the month then don't give them anymore so they'll learn their lesson.

How ever much he/she earns by doing things around the house over and above their assigned chores. A child should not be paid for doing what is expected of them, such as keeping their room and bathroom clean, dishes after dinner, etc. A child's payment for those chores is a roof over their head, clothes on their backs and food in their stomach.

Chores such as washing the vehicle(s), mowing the lawn(s), doing unassigned chores, etc. pay them what you think their effort is worth, even if they have only put forth a dollars worth of effort.

Depends on the parents, unless he has earned it by doing shores or gone out and helped neighbors. Kids need to learn that its not easy to get all they want, unless they work for it. The real world is hard and better they learn this lesson at home.

Like what my parents did for me...a buck per chore you do around the house. At the end of the week my dad would tally up what he owed us. That way we earned the money, and didn't blow it as easily. By the end of one summer, I had enough to buy my own stereo, and about 10 cds.

Enough money to get them what they need.and maybe what they want. I would personally say about twenty dollars a week. Also depending upon what they deserve. If they have good and reasonable behavior then they deserve a legible amount but if they contiounously disrespect you or others then they deserve little or nothing.

depends. lyk if they are going to the movies they should have $20. but if its for thier own as earning it, then none because they end up wasting it
