Am I the only one getting annoying IMs from Bible Thumpers? Please stop harassing me. If I wanted saving, I would go to church

I don't want to hide it because I have gotten IMs from decent people who have legitimate questions about things-I guess they may just have to e-mail me.

I DON'T NEED SAVING. I did the Jesus route for many years and it left me empty and lonely. I am much happier, fullfilled and at peace now that I have left Christianity.

I'm not calling ALL Christians Bible Thupers. Just the ones who stalk me on the internet. You have your freedom to have your religion just like I have mine.

Don't worry my dear, very soon I shall be sending something your way that will test your faith, and only the strong of faith and mind will survive. I have great confidence that you will survive, but many of those of whom you speak... I should say no more, I have already said too much. People who are not strong in their own faith will always try to find others to make them stronger. But it does not work that way, as I am sure you know. They would even send Me, the center of their cult, (which, by the way, I am fairly certain I warned against iodizing in My 10 Commandments. In fact, if I am not much mistaken, it was the First, and the most important.) threatening Instant Messages, telling Me to have respect for Myself. They would try to save their own Lord and God.

The best advice I can give is to stay away from this portion of Answers, because it opens the door. As for those Bible thumpers, I am one. Wether or not you get "saved" is up to you. This is for all the other responders as well, but that is your choice. I am not going to preach at you, and I believe that those that are IM'ing you are in the wrong. One cannot truly tell someone about something so personal without getting to know them first. I apologize on behalf of those who are Christians that respect the boundaries setup in the Word. Do me a favor though.... get to know a few of us a little better before you judge us. I can tell you don't like it when "we" do that to any of you. try to keep a level playing field

I must say that I'm NOT getting e-mails, instant messages or anything pertaining to religion from anyone. I will tell you this for future reference just in case you have done this in the past or thinking of doing or are doing it right now. If you are criticizing religion of any type, domination, or anything that pertains to religion then you are probably getting them b/c of that. We are NOT Bible Thumpers as you so call us. People are just concerned for you well being in the after life. You don't have to go to church to get saved either. I'm NOT going to pressure Christianity upon your nor anything other thing pertaining for religion for that matter. I will tell you this though. I will pray for you and nothing more. Good luck in your life and the after life.

First of all, going to church does not get you saved. Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. I agree with you in the fact that some so-called "Holier than thou" individuals put too much pressure on people basically condemning them on the spot or trying to get them to come to their church. You will find that a true believer will present the gospel in a loving manner allowing you to make the choice. Just remember that there is a Heaven and there is a hell. I hope to see you in Heaven.

No, you're not the only one. The surprising thing is that none of the bible-thumpers who've tried messaging me seem to know much about the bible or even their own faith. It's surprising that as a Pagan, I can quote and interpret Christian scripture better than some Christians can themselves.

I am a Christian and I would never IM anyone unless invited. I save my IM's for people that I have in common.
Since the bible says we will be judged for every deed we do and every idle word we speak, Your question will be brought back up on judgment day. The Christian will receive the reward for trying and you will have to answer to your questions.

Since this is the religious section you can count on me to thump my bible quite often here. So keep coming back. You might learn something.

Ok, now I'm annoyed! Did she not say that she didn't want people pushing their BELIEFS on her? Yeah, you will have an eternal life in heaven if you follow all of God's orders - good for you! Maybe we DO seek God, there is no way for any one human being on the planet to know for sure who seeks who. Just because you believe it does not make it fact! And just because I don't believe it, does not make me wrong! Get off your high horse and leave this poor girl alone (and everyone else who believes differently from you!)

Dear Autumn, Those who are sending you those "annoying IM's" only have your best interest at heart. They do not want you to be eternally separated from a loving and caring God who has provided a way of escape from the coming judgment. And, to be honest, NO ONE seeks God. He seeks us. So, although you may have meant well when you said if you wanted to be saved you would go to church, that is simply not true. Wishing you all the best, and praying you allow Him in your life soon.

It's a sad side-affect of this sort of forum; people feel that, since you let it be known whatyou believe (or don't) you're fair game for proselytizing. Good luck with it. Here's a hint: There's a way to set IM to ignore them. I can't quite remember how...look it up in the help section.

I agree, change your settings to private. That way, if you get a message via YA and you want to chat, you can give out your info then.

Also, why are you getting so upset? You're getting angry because you're LETTING them make you angry. Don't give up your power like that. If you accept that the ones who are harrassing you are only following what they believe, just like you're only following what you believe, you'll see there's no reason to be angry. Instead, you can respond with a simple "thank you for your concern" and leave it at that.
