Why should one form dominate? How dull.

No. A handshake can be rude, offensive, intrusive, and an excellent way to transmit disease. Even in culture like the US where a handshake is common, few know how, when and who may correctly offer, and who must wait to be offered.

I think bowing would be an excellent choice, but forcing homogeneity is to cause serious harm.

Lyotard has a lot to say on the negative ideal of consensus and its negative aspects.

and some like the wave and hat raising are non-touch for distant communication.

I really wish that bowing was universal. I hate having to shake hands. After working in an office building for 10 years and knowing that most of my co-workers probably don't wash their hands after eating or going to the bathroom I can't STAND having to shake someone else's hand. Yuck! Who knows where that thing's been!?

You left out my Fav! Hugging. That is what I do and I get it from my family. and the small town I was raised in. We all hug, just a way of showing love, and saying I am really happy to see ya.

Why are you even asking this? The world would be boring if everyone did the same thing all the time!

Because we're all created differently and don't you think it is a bit boring to have only one way to do something?
