That's hard to answer, both Christian and Islamic denominations have been responsible for large wars that killed hundreds of thousands of people. Let's just say the world would be a more peaceful place if people didn't start wars that are motivated by religious ideology.

Islam is NOT a violent religion. If one were to sit down and seriously study the religion and the Q'rahn, he would find that they speak of love, and all of the things that Christianity is supposed to espouse.
The similarities between the two largest religions in the world are so many, it is scary.

The people whyo do violence in the name of Allah are not the majority, and do net represent the true teachings of Islam any more than people who kill and hate in the name of Jesus represent the true meaning of Christianity.

The world would be more peaceful if there were fewer religious fanatics of EVERY religion.

Maybe it would be, but in all odds if it wasnt one thing it would just be another. Humans have never managed to all get along, there will always be something we dont like about someone else rather it be religion, color, maybe even just where they grew up. The problems in the world today aren't cause by islamic religions, there are 1000's of peacful followers who dont blow people up and things like that. The problem is the religious fanatics, same as always. it's just like saying that the middle ages would have been better if Christianity hadn't exsisted since they came in and started wars to spread their beliefs. Christians in general didnt do it, fanatics did.
