I'm 48 now and when I was 2 years old I was very sick with 106' temp. They gave me some kind of med...myacin??. My perm. teeth that came in were discolored. I was teased my whole childhood over it. The dentist I have been seeing sold me a 320.00 kit to whiten and it didn't do a thing!! It costs over a thousand $$ a tooth to have each tooth capped. Anything cheaper???

Laser whitening

I actually have a similar problem. When I was a baby (in 85) I had a fever or 105.3 and my adult teeth also grew in discolored. I have used commercial whiteners with some results, but my teeth are always to sensitive to go through th entire process. You could try the laser whitening process. I just made peace with my teeth and if anyone harasses me about it, I tell them the story of what happened.

rarely does bleaching work on tetracycline staining unless it is done intensely at a high concentration. i have seen it work and i was amaze but the patient was extremely diligent in her home work with the bleaching trays. sometimes this means bleaching twice a day with even a 30% which has to be done ever so carefully so as not to burn your tissue and almost always along with a flouride gel to desensitize the teeth. talk to him about it- ask if you need a higher percentage bleaching gel and see if another 2 week round will help any.

The medicine you were given was probably tetracycline...and unfortunately they didn't figure it out until the mid 60's that it caused that kind of discoloration.....veneers really are your only option

If your teeth came out discoloured, then you can't bleach them or use a laser to get them white. They aren't white to begin with. You need something to cover them up.
