Undoubtedly! Religion is and has been the greatest cause of strife on this planet. And for those of you who think the world would be more peaceful if there were only one religion, I'm guessing you figure it would be YOURS.

No. We're a warlike species and would think of other things to kill eachother for. Resources, for example. Really, when a war purports to be about religion, 99 percent of the time it really boils down to group A wants what group B has- that was true even in the crusades. The Christians wanted free access to the holy land.

On a day to day basis I think the world would be less peaceful, not more. The only reason some people do good works or live and let live is that they think that if they don't, their god will punish them. Even if I disagree with that, I am willing to leave it alone because having fewer people around with anti social inclinations makes my life easier.

Religions? Yes. However, there's a difference between religion and true Christianity. True Christianity is the only way to be complete peace. Even then we all have sin natures and we're not perfect. As someone pointed out, when God comes back and the book of Revelation is fulfilled, then we will have peace.

I strongly disagree with your question. The world religions are of great importance as they help us to realise that God exists and that we follow him in every aspect. Additionally, through the use of religious books, we learn to live with harmony, brotherhood and honesty. I think the only disaster to world peace is the existence of religious extremists who are making it difficult for all to coexist. But, overall all the religions in the world are important for world peace and unity.

No I think this world would be in worse shape than it already is without Religions, Look what has already happened when prayer was removed from our schools. And what about Rights to worship as we choose.. that was fought for long ago.

No but the world would be more peaceful if everyone followed the dictates of his(her) religion rather than corrupting them to fit their own agenda.

No,not at all dear, bcoz in todays world where everyone's life is full of tensions ,little time devoted to religion works like the water for any thirsty person. Moreover one should not use his/her religion as a weapon to divide any community.
