Depends upon the weight. read your owners manual to see what the towing capacity is as well as how much weight you can carry in the truck. You need to have the trailer weighed fully stocked and add the weight of the horses. With this figure you can calculate the tongue weight of the trailer. This figure must not exceed the capacity of the truck and the trailer weight must not exceed towing capacity. My hunch is that if your truck is in good condition it will be fine. However, you still need to do this math to ensure safety. Are these 'Hobby Horses'? or are they business related. IF business related and you exceed 10,000 pounds Gross vehicle weight WITH the trailer, you will need to get D.O.T. liscenced with numbers for the truck.

Be sure to check with your insurance company to get an extra coverage rider to cover the Trailer AND the value of the Horses! Most insurance policies DO NOT cover the value of the pets killed in a crash.

Remember that a Vehicle towing a trailer is 4 times more likely to be involved in a crash so be very cautious when towing! The life you save may be MINE!

Well if a small Chevy Blazer w/ a 4.3 vortec can pull a 24 ft boat I would say your truck would have zero effort in doing so.

For the record...a Blazer can pull a FORD Excusion out of a ditch where only 3 wheels are touching...GRUNT GRUNT GRUNT MORE POWER!!

Check the load specifications in your owner's manual, it'll tell you the towing capacity. Most times, if you're not going far, you can squeak by if it's a little over, but I STRONGLY recommend finding the rated capacity in the book. You should be able to look it up online also www.gmc.com

It should be able to do that easily enough, although I think you mean 6.6L diesel. The 6.0 is a gas. The diesel will surely do a better job pulling, but either one will do the job.
