It depends on the reason. Generally, I would say "Not if you want to put your trust in the results of DNA tests". Once someone has it, you can be framed any number of nasty ways by a nefarious individual with a grudge against you.

Depending on the situation and where you live - you may not have a choice! Some states have laws that govern this.
But - do you realize you leave your DNA everywhere? Envelopes, silverware, dishes, paper cups - just plain all over! Don't even have to try - you just do it!

Sure if you want your DNA to be found at a crime scene... after all you would be the one doing the time, so you really would be helping somebody else out.
