Cheese and Garlic Drop Biscuits
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 Tbsp sugar
1/8 - 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Topping:
2 Tbsp melted butter
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
Combine flour, salt, baking powder, cream of tartar, sugar and garlic
powder in a mixing bowl. Cut in shortening using a pastry blender. Mix
milk and then cheese into mixture with a wooden spoon. Drop by large
spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 425 F for 10-12 minutes. Mix
melted butter and garlic powder together and brush on warm biscuits as
soon as you remove them from the oven. (These are very similar to Red
Lobster's Cheddar Bay Biscuits but a lot better than the recipes that
start with Bisquick, in my opinion.)

This recipe yields 1 dozen biscuits.
Comments: Order an entree from America's largest seafood restaurant chain
and you'll get a basket of some of the planet's tastiest cheese biscuits
served up on the side. For many years this recipe has been the top
requested clone recipe on the Internet; especially here on the Top Secret
Recipes site. Several versions are floating around, including one that was
printed right on the Bisquick box. If you've tried some of these other
clones and found them to be a little "off" from the real thing, you should
enjoy this easy-to-bake TSR version that'll fool even the biggest Red
Lobster freaks.

i don't know their recipe, but for mine, i just make bisquick biscuit mix, and set it aside. then i grate up 2 cups of cheddar cheese, and set aside.
preheat the oven and get your bisquit pan. put 3-4 pieces of bacon in the pan and stick in the oven while it preheats. cook the bacon in the pan inside the oven, turning at least once until it's done.
then remove the pan from the oven and remove the bacon from the pan. leave the bacon drippings in the pan. crumble bacon, and add it and the cheese to the biscuits. then bake them in the bacon pan according to the directions on the box, checking for doneness with a toothpick often.
and once they're done, remove from oven. take a couple tablespoons of butter and put them in a microwave safe cup. add one clove of garlic, just crushed with the broad side of a knife. melt the butter completely and brush over all the biscuits while they're still hot.
once they're cool, remove from the pan and enjoy. they will be all bacony and delicious on the bottom, cheesy and gooey in the middle, and buttery garlicky on top. yum.
these are delicious! gramma's recipe. yum.

They sell a package of the mix that makes those same biscuits at the grocery store! Maybe by Bisquick? I think you can also get their recipe on : www.topsecretrecipes.com

i usually just make biscuits using bisquick, and add cheese, garlic, and olive oil. Also, you could probably buy pillsbury dough mixes that come in the tube and just stuff it with cheese and a glaze of olive oil.
