I am Christian and I recognize everyone believes in God. Even atheists, but they believe themselves god in a different way than theists think of God.
However, some people may believe in a false God. Couldn't that be true?
So you are correct in that it is a great starting point to springboard into the truth of Jesus Christ being God.
thanks for the question.

for the people who said that Christians are idiots and that if it isn't their god it doesn't count, what's your problem? if you don't believe in God then that's your choice. there's no need to call people idiots. that makes you as much a bigot as you probably claim Christians are.
As for 'if it's not their god it doesn't count', well what's wrong with that? if you don't want to follow the Christian faith, you're never going to be forced to.
John 3:16 Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through Me.
BUT THROUGH ME. THERE'S NO OTHER WAY.
So yes, Christianity is single-minded. So is Islam. So is Judaism. For all monotheistic religions, it's my way or the highway. So deal with it. Sorry if it sounds harsh. Just expressing my opinion.

Christians do not realize a lot of things. They say my God is the only God and every one else is close minded but religion descended to humans as a child is first taught letters then how to write poetry. As humans matured, so new revelations came with more detailed information but the previous owners of religion did not want to give up their crowns and added to religion to keep their influence on the sheep. God is One, every thing is His creation, He does not have a son nor does He need One. Why would He kill some one for every ones sins and not just forgive every one? It doesn't make sense.

I'd not use the word most. I don't believe in any form of all powerful creator type being. If I was forced into religion I would go for the good old fashioned Roman, Norse or Greek Gods.

I am not sure if most people believe in God or not. I think most people need something to believe in and God fits that role. As one of the apparent minority who simply does not believe I become rather irritated with the pious attitude that one ideological concept is correct/right when others are not. Freedom to believe is only as important as the freedom not to believe. Personally, I will treat all people of all race and religion with dignity and respect and take my chances with any deities if/when I meet them

Its a great starting point, but if you do not form a relationship with God and ask for forgiveness and ask Jesus to lead your life, it does no good. Even Satan and the demons believe in God, they just don't follow him and despise him.

Oh Dear Don S, that's an attitude and a half - everyone thinks what I think, they just won't admit it????
I don't believe in God, there is nothing to admit and no God to admit it to.
I think actually that fewer and fewer people believe in God - I don't actually think any-one I know does.

Yeah we do. We also realize that a lot of people don't believe in Jesus as the Savior and Son of God. That is what separates our beliefs from other religions beliefs.

I believe they don't.
I believe that they are fighting and struggling for their own salvation that they miss the overall picture.
I believe that religion is corrupt and that the scriptures are inspired by God and man has corrupted them.
You are Quite Intuitive, well done.
I have said this for the first time.
