I have a 12 year old with a birthday this month, was wondering what would be a good gift or surprise for her. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Start with a surprise breakfast. I always make waffles, top with whipped topping, sprinkles, and candies. You can even get out the icecream for breakfast (heck its only once a year) Then spend an entire day doing what she loves, whether it be skating, shopping, or whatever. But let her pick out every activity.

an old fashioned surprise party. He wanted a friend to stay overnight but due to the party all of them had " conflicts". He was so bummed and when we brought him in the house and all his buds were there he was thrilled. My wife send them on a scavenger hunt in teams. Cheap prizes, silly competitions, no gifts from kids,(avoid gift bag needs) pizza, traditional cake and ice cream.

How about a volunteer party? She and some friends could volunteer their time somewhere, or you guys could go grocery shopping and drop everything off at a food bank, or buy toys, baby clothes, and toiletries and donate them to a women's shelter. Then congratulate yourselves with a banana split sundae at your favourite ice cream parlour. Happy birthday!

We bought our 'little cowboy' a calf. But then we butchered it 3 years later. He really enjoyed that calf though.
